Good grief...

I've had I think 5 or 6 games not show up in the 7 months I've been a gamefly member. Games that just never showed up, so I'd have to notify them 7 days after it shipped and have another one shipped my way. Never had any problems with them getting lost on the way back.

So after the last one I get an email saying they are cancelling my account and refunding my last payment. They gave me some BS line apologizing for being unable to provide me adequate service. Of course they think I'm stealing games.

Since gameznflix doesn't HAVE DS games (good grief) I switched over to intothegame. Hurrah, I guess. They're missing a few games I want to try (Deep Labyrinth, for example) and their coming soon game list is very very short, but here's hoping the shipping is better.

It sucks ass to be sure, but on the other hand, as a business you can't really blame them. It's called "cutting your losses." Even if you weren't stealing (and I don't think you were), you weren't exactly bringing them in any money. At least they were kind enough to refund your last payment.

I've been with gamefly a year now and I've lost a couple games...yeah I have to take better precautions when sending stuff back.

I believe it is in their right to cancel an account if they feel that the area they are shipping to is "unsafe" or has a high frequency of lost items. I believe I read that in their terms of use agreement.

E-mail them or use the request form on the left sidebar to request any games they don't have. 98% of the time they'll have them in a matter of days.

Try calling gamefly.com at 1-888-986-6400, but there is a limited window, 9am pst, to 1pm pst, mon- fri..

Yeah, they're definitely within their rights, it just suck on my end. I got a follow up letter saying that if they receive back any 3 of the games that went missing (Steambot would be one) they can reopen my account. They suggest stopping by my post office and filing an official complaint there.

Thanks for the tip about requesting games. I used it, but I wasn't sure how effective of a tool it was.

Consider yourself lucky. Gamefly kind of sucks.

Normally my biggest complaint with them would be slow shipping. But the last game I attempted to rent, "Legend of Heroes" arrived broken in half. So I sent it back, they were promt in sending me a replacement but instead of the game I ordered I recieved "Untold Legends" in a "Legend of Heroes" sleeve. Annoying because essentially I've paid $25 this month and haven't gotten to play any games for it.

I then decided that I really didn't need gamefly and logged on to cancel my account. Now they're telling me my credit card's been decline, which isn't possibly because it's all connected to my Debit card which has more then enough funds to cover their fee. Just a huge pain in the butt. I sent them a bitchy email about it and am waiting for Monday when I should have a reply.

Yeah, none of the video game rental sites online have really nailed it. Not to the degree that Netflix and BBO rock, at least. They all have some significant flaws which really dampen the overall quality of their service.

Yeah, don't get too bent out of shape over it. I just signed up for gamfly when I got my 360. So far two of the games that were supposedly shipped out haven't arrived, and one that was shipped out never arrived, I reported it missing, and the sent out another, which still hasn't arrived.

Needless to say I'm cancelling it later this evening.

I think it's just crappy service on their part, and the suggestion to complain to the post office is just them passing the buck. I've had netflix of about 3 years now and have only reported one missing DVD, and it eventually arrived, albiet a month late.

its really nice to read this and let peopel know that gamefly is shitty~ people need to know this~ thanks guys~ saves me money and from being pissed off~
