At the flea market today I saw a boxed Odyssey 300 for $10 and appeared to have everything and in great condition, but didn't buy it. Just curious if these things are rare or expensive. ShouldI buy it next week (if its still there)?

No and no.

If you like dedicated pong consoles, pick it up. It's definitely worth a look, but you probably won't play it very often after the initial couple of play sessions.

$10 is a fair price for any boxed complete pong unit. Just don't expect a profit when you try and sell it.

Seriously.
I passed up several of these before I finally bought one, just to give it a home. I spent $5 and yeah, it was complete. After several months of looking at it and realizing I'd never do anything with it, I investigated getting rid of it. I literally could not give it away. I finally dumped it at the DAV thrift where they put it behind the counter like a rare jewel and slapped a $50 price tag on it! Last I saw it, they'd moved it to the floor with a take-it-away price of $5.
The moral of the story...thrift store people are nuts when it comes to pricing things.

Odyssey 300 was my first ever gaming system back in 1976. $10 is a fair price for one, especially if it's complete. That being said, it isn't a "bargain" price. It's the first Odyssey with "pong" on a chip and you don't need three separate knobs for controlling the paddles and the ball trajectory.

It's surprising how many Pongs are complete compared to later non-dedicatewd systems.
But ANY pong unit is a steal for under $15, imo. Shit, if it's $10 I'll buy it even if I already have it.
