ok, i have all 3 of these systems and i have a question about the onboard save abilities. do all these systems have a internal battery that needs changed? i remember reading the satern needs a battery replaced over time or the internal save feature will fail
do the cdx or turbo duo have a similer situation? my saves on my duo system seem to dissapear after a very short period of time and since i'm planning on playing some rpgs on the system soon i really need the save feature working.
is there a battery that i need to change? if so whats the battery and price? if not is the thing maybe just broken?
just threw in the cdx for future refrence
The Saturn uses a battery (very common one, CR23-something or other, I forgot, the DC VMUs use the same battery). Very cheap, it goes into a slot in the back of the Saturn (there's a removable door there to reach the battery slot). My batteries tend to last about a year or so (far less in VMUs, those things eat batteries like crazy).
The Turbo uses a capacitor, so there's no battery to replace. Just keep the unit plugged in and turn it on every once in awhile. If you do that and still lose your saves quickly then the capacitor may be going bad. I know that in my main Turbo CD unit, I left it in storage for several years and the saves were still there, but that seems to be the exception rather than the rule. The manual says to turn on the unit every two weeks IIRC.

Pop open the panel on the back of the Saturn. The battery's in there; it's a CR2032.
Never had problems with my Duo-R loosing save games, so not sure about your Duo. There's probably an internal battery on the MoBo that's ran out of juice?
CD-X sould have internal save too. But you could get a Save Cart.

ok, thanks. i didn't have alot of space for awhile here so after i would play i would usually unplug the system and pack it up for a month or so. that may of been the problem.
thanks for the info on the satern/cdx as well

Yes it is. I just changed my battery on Sunday. You have to change the battery on the Saturn every year. When you do though, you lose all the data you have unless you have a RAM cart.
