Oh man! I wish I wasn't broke.

Any chance you can post a photo, just so some of us can see this one?

Sure, I am the developer of Tutankham while I worked at Parker Brothers from 1983-1984. The game was totally completed, went through beta test and pre-production testing, etc. Its in its prototype board format before it was shrunk down to an actual cartridge.

In mid-1984, TI decided to drop the TI 99/4A, which resulted in Parker Brothers deciding to not release and market any more TI games. I have all the copies of this game and have kept them all these years. My kids even played them once they got old enough.

Here are some pictures. Howeverm only VERY serious offers will be considered as these are one-of-a-kind.

Hi all,
Just to be clear and not to waste anyone's time....

No offers less than $5000 (five thousand dollars).

I sent an offer of $200. Needless to say, it was not accepted.

Am I the only one to think that $5000 is about $4000 more than even wildly hopeful? I think that $500 is about realistic hopeful, and market should be $200-$400.

Seems like way too much, even for an unreleased game. I would make a serious offer of about $150 but that's about it.

I emailed the seller and was told he has two copies of this prototype. You are making an offer on one of the two copies. I'd love to have this and hopefully the seller will reconsider his min bid and we can enter into an agreement.

Thanks for the offers, but no thanks. TI Tut will not be sold for much less than originally stated.

Thanks,
Steve

The only way you are going to get 5k is if you make 100 copies and sell them for $50 a pop. Of course you would have to make more to cover your costs. People who do this usually make a run of 200 or 250. However, that is alot of copies to move for a TI game.

I think if you numbered the carts and had a raffle when they were all sold with the winner getting a real proto as a prize you just might be able to pull it off. Still I dunno. It is TI. Would suck to do all that and sell 10 copies.

Interesting stuff, protos are always interesting.

It may take a few years, but I think that you would probably get around the price that you're asking.

I'm thinking 10, 20, 30, 40 years maybe. In 10 years, things in collecting haven't changed THAT dramatically. We'll see!

Good luck! And yes, thanks for the pictures.
