If anybody is interested, I wouldn't mind being involved in a Madden 07 for Xbox 360 Digital Press league. Basically it would work like this, we would need 16 people to sign up for the league. Each of the 16 people get one team in the AFC and one team in the NFC. Up until the season opener, we will just play practice games with each other to get ready for the start of the season. Then, once the season actually starts, we follow the real season with our virtual season. If your AFC team has a real game with your NFC team, then the commish will run a simulation game between the two teams to decide the winner. We basically will follow the real NFL season all the way into the playoffs and the Superbowl.
Now, the main thing is, don't volunteer for this league unless you are serious about it. Also, you are going to need to be available to get your games in. The good news, is you only have to play two games per week at most, which gives you plenty of time to get your games in. I'm not going to volunteer for the comish role, because I honestly don't have enough time to do that, but if somebody else is willing to step up that would be great. Also, I would like to encourage the use of headsets and good sportsmanship. We can conversate on XBL while we try to beat each others brains in. It should be quite fun.
So whos in?

i would be interested in participating. we should all pick two teams that dont play each other. it should be possible for everyone, i think.

Yeah, right, I want Seahawks and Dolphins, lol. No, we would be drafting teams, 1 in NFC and 1 in AFC and if they play each other, then the commish can run a simulated game to decide the outcome, but I'm sure it will be pretty rare occurance, and if it does happen it will only be once. Unfortunately, we still need 13 more guys to want to be in this thing, but in the mean time, if anybody wants to play me on live my gamertag is.....

I've only played a couple of games so far, and right now I'm actually working on my Fantasy Football crap, cause my league is having their draft a week from tomorrow and I haven't done any prep at all so far, so I really need to get crackin on it. I'll probably play Madden later in the evening.

what would be the cutoff date to sign up for this? I'm interested in playing, but I don't have Madden yet, but I may get it soon.
Unless I could play with Madden '06, but I'm not sure if "06 and '07 players can play each other, I'm assuming they can't.

360 Madden looks good. And I've played it a lot since I got it over the past week or so.. but you know what I did yesterday? Gave up and went out and bought the PS2 version as well. The ps2 version seems to have a couple of bugs here and there (pauses, and what looks like flicker :hmm:) but man the control scheme is what I needed. I don't know why they can't just try and match the controls on the 360 version. As such, it's the prettier, but less satisfying cousin

Well the goal would be to have the 16 people signed up, with teams drafted and everything, prior to the first "real" nfl game. The NFL kickoff game is Thursday September 7th, Miami at Pittsburgh. Of course, we don't absolutely have to start if off alongside the real season, but it would be ideal. We could start it slightly later, and just play enough games to catch up with the real season. The thing is, I think it would be ideal to kinda keep our season moving along with the real season, simply because playing 2 games per week is very managable. Sure, some people have nothing but time on their hands and can play 5 games per day, but some of us have Jobs and Wives and Kids, etc, etc. So 2 games per week is pretty managable in my opinion.
