My wife and I are getting a yorkie today. For those who don't know, it is a very small breed about 3-7lbs. Both of us wanted to name the doge something game related (yea we're nerds :-P ) but couldn't decide on a name. Now it need to be spunky and somewhat short. Now we don't know if we are getting a male or female, so suggestions on both would be great. I had the idea of "Sega" but still need more options. Thanks alot.

If it were a cat I'd name it Bubsy. I can't recall too many dog names from games... :/

thanks for the name. It doesn't have to be a dog from a game. it could be any name from any type of character.

Because most small dogs are wound tight...
1. Q-bert
2. Sonic
3. Bonk
4. Dizzy
5. Blanka

or if you like metroid....
1. Samus
2. Ridley

a few Zelda names...
1. Ganon(final boss)
2. Digdogger(boss) This one really fits the kind of dog you are getting because this huge boss ends up shrinking

Of course the obvious names...Mario, Luigi, Link, Zelda, pacman, kirby

I always said i was going to name my next dog "Deeogee" (say it out loud)

I thought 'Pong' was a good name for a pup too...

I've got a 1/2 Yorkie 1/2 Chihuahua dog (with long hair she looks like a Yorkie, but when cut short she looks like a Chihuahua...weird. But I digress).

Anyway, I was qute surprised when my Mom named her Wookie.

What was the name of the ninja in Shadow Dancer's dog?

I think giving a pet a name from a video game borders on animal cruelty. Name it Shadow...I remember a dog in a video game named that and that's a popular name for pets anyway.

name it "opa"

Opa means grandfather in German.

Ren
Link
Spike (of Spike McFang or Rocko's Modern Life)

I always wanted to name a cat Mew, mostly because its the sound they make and not for the Pokemon.

Goomba would be a neat name for a little dog.

Name it "Spot".

After the incredibly popular 8 and 16 bit character ported over from 7UP commercials. This way you have both a common dog name AND a videogame character name.

Problem solved.

Name it after a game title. My first choice would be

Frogger - a small thing that jump around a lot.

If it likes to chew up things you might want to call it PAC-MAN

Others are:
Ballz as in Ballz 3D, for male dog only LOL
Flicky - Saga Game
ECCO
Izzy
