It now appears we will have to start paying extra just to finish games...

I've always thought "downloadable content" was a slippery slope. Let's hope this fails miserably.

Bogus or not bogus?: Probably bogus. But you better keep that pitchfork sharpened and handy just in case.

I may be getting too pessimistic, but I'll bet this isn't "bogus". Due to the runaway success of XBL Marketplace, MS is going to constantly see how much they can get away with. I don't even want to think about how much the Halo 3 downloads are going to cost.

Semi-bogus...
It's something that microsoft is pushing, but there are a lot of rules about how it has to be done. IE, you can't force players to have to pay for extra lives, etc...

That woule suck completely , and the only way I would go for paying for playing is a mmorpg so playing them requires only xbox points instead of prepaid cards

There is a larger spot in hell growing for Microsoft with everything they put on the marketplace.

I hope you aren't happy with the Wii Virtual Console, then!

Yeah, that's true. To tell the truth, I almost forgot they were offering an emulation service. Some of it's less than exciting though, considering I have tons of nintendo related classics, 80% of the genny collection and tons of tg16 games.

There's no such thing as hell...it's just a ploy to try and get humanity to act a little better than they would, were they to not have to worry about their souls.....

has anyone read an article about the "consumable downloads" they are thinking of doing? such as (just an example) if you were to want the ultra heavy super plasma blaster in halo 3, you'd have to buy the gun and the ammo for the gun and once the ammo runs out, you have to buy more on the marketplace. That could become a little too much for my blood, but it would help get rid of those extra microsoft points that they so casually set it up so you always have an extra 100 MSP after downloading XBLA games. What if I don't want to spend those extra points on something like a gamerpic, give me something I want to use it on, not waste it on.
well, I guess whoever is rich will beat everyone haha.
Nah I don't think it will get that thick, but then if it does, I'm not going to go for it, it's all up to the consumer.

Microsoft and Buena Vista have heard and read the negative responses to this. It would be suicide if they used this model on Lumines Live.
