Kaine's poll about unlocking extras in games, made me think of this game right away.

This, oddly enough is the tiltle that made me buy a DC.
I tried it at a friends' place and was instantly hooked.

Anyone else play this?
Any thoughts on this very uderrated title?

For me this stands out because I am NOT a fan of fishing games, but this seems to transcend its genre.

From the fun mini games to the in game play, I think its awesome.

What makes the game though IMHO is the Aquarium mode, which as far as I know is completely unique.

In this game it was worthwhile trying to unlock all the extras so that you could fill your Aquarium and then tour it.

Anyone else out there as impressed with this title as I was?

Very much so. I loved Sega Bass Fishing (aka Get Bass) and Marine Fishing was a huge improvement. It was definitely the aquarium that did for me!

Too bad Sega blew it on the PS2 by making the fishing game more sim like then arcade. I would have enjoyed seeing a Marine Fishing sequel on there but not if it's going to get the same treatment.

Do you guys play with the fishing controller or the regular DC one?

I'm curious if the fishing controller adds anything to the experience.

I've played with both and I definitely prefer the fishing controller. I've only used the Sega made one, so I don't know how the third party controllers are.

I seconfd the fishing controller, I've had many fun and drunken knight's with this game and the fishing controller.

The Sega one is standard DC gray. The one in the picture is made by Naki.
