What's up with this game? I played it with my best bud, and I actually like it more than both Baldur's Gate DA games, right up there with Champions 2. Yet, Public opinion of this game is... less than savory. With all the fuss over BG DA 2, and Champions 2, did this one just fall through the cracks? Or was it the fact that it perverted the story of the Fallout PC games (which I've only played a little of)?
Secret weapons, actually useful ranged weapons, and humor, but I only know of the game from fellow DPers. what's the story here?

I actually want to play this game a bit (this is the top-down shooter game, right? Not the online Fallout), although something tells me I won't like it as much as the proper Fallout games with their real characters, decisions, and such.

It's a great game and I loved it but Fallout 2 was much better. If I remember correctly Fallout 2 had a much more interesting story where BOS was more of a shoot and kill tactical game with the Fallout name attatched.
Baldurs Gate 2 was better than Fallout: BOS on so many levels but it didn't have machine guns. LOL

yeah this game is to fallout and fallout 2 as dirge of cerebus is to final fantasy.
They need to make another RPG... like now.

the game is a shit stain on the underwear of Black Isle Studios. Game difficulty and level design are all over the place and the storyline is a pale excuse for a Fallout game. They threw in tons of vulgarities to appeal to kids and it's just a Fallout game in name and nothing else.
Had I known Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II was from the same development team, I probably wouldn't have bothered hunting it down. I still haven't played DA2 and I'm honestly thinking of skipping right to Champions after I beat DA1. Fallout was just just BAD.

I won't play it based on principle. These games were pure basardization of good RPGs.
I loved Bard's Tale though, but as I posted in another thread that was for the humour not the gameplay. I can't see myself enjoying Champions of Norrath nearly as much even though Bard's Tale borrowed the same game engine.

DA2 is much better though. I loved DA1 and DA2 but cannot bring myself to even remotely like Fallout. I don't know why though, somehow it just doesn't work out for me.
I personally rank them thusly:
Champions Of Norrath: RoE (5x thru, never get sick of it)
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
Champions: Return to Arms
The Bard's Tale (just started it)
Baldur's Gate: DA II (something "wrong" about this game I couldnt put my finger on)
Fallout: BoS

Quick question: which platform is this Fallout game for? Is it for PC, or for PS2?

Xbox. Might be a Pc Version too.
Dont confuse brotherhood of steel with the excellent PC releases of Fallout and Fallout 2 which are some of the best RPGs ever made.

Also don't confuse it with the older PC only Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel. A fantastic and severely underrated game that doesn't have as ambitious a story or character development (there basically is none) as it could have, but has very deep and involving gameplay.
