So...the new OXM reviewed this game in the most recent issue, so that would lead me to believe that the game is done or is extremely close to it.
I noticed that the official MS site for the title still has TBD for the release date. Anyone know?
I'm super excited for it. It just might be the game to finally push me to get a Gold XBL subscription.

This is definitely my most anticipated upcoming XBLA release, though I'm a bit concerned about the rumors surrounding the pricing model for the game (like making pretty much *everything* -- like multiplayer and puzzle mode -- an optional, paid add-on). I'm more than willing to pay for extra song packs down the road, but I'd be a little more reluctant to pay for functionality that should come with the game by default.
So, what rating did OXM give the game? :)

8.5 was the rating if I remember correctly. Their biggest bitch was the pricing of the game, which is people the biggest complaint that everyone will have.

I'm currently the holder of the #1 and #2 spots on all the time attack boards on Lumines Mobile (I had to replace my phone) so I'm obviously super excited about this game and expect to do very well in competition.
For the record, on the mobile release, I've got:
90 seconds: 123/121
180 seconds: 247/227
300 seconds: 389/378
600 seconds: 752/666 (I'm not going to improve that second score just to have that exact number)
As far as the pricing goes, I'm ok with it. Seeing as how the full release of the game is 39.99, as long as the sum of all the parts doesn't quite equal that, I think it will be fairly priced.
I just wanna play some serious competition to elevate my game!

I'm extremely looking forward to this damn thing, I wish it would come out already. It was one of the deciding factors in me getting the 360. (Dead Rising being the other.)
Can't wait to play the game in HD. I just want to play it, I don't care about the music, just let me play the game. It will probably tie with my other two favorite Xbox 360 puzzlers for first place. Hexic and Zuma.
I just hope the controller doesn't suck. The D-Pad on mine is shit. Pressing doesn't always register. Try to answer the phone in Dead Rising and the Down button gets pressed. I drop my weapon and a zombie attacks me. Makes those damn calls even more frustrating. I hope playing with the Analog stick doesn't suck.

Did you see this?

Heavenly Star Skin - Free to Xbox Live Gold members for one month
VS CPU Pack - 100 MS Points for one month (300 MS Points after)
Puzzle/Mission Pack - 100 MS Points for one month (300 MS Points after)
I bought the game, love it despite the initial price of the game, and the first add-on pack. But for 200 MS Points I get these three downloads? Sounds great.
Do you think MS has changed their pricing because of the HUGE backlash they got? Seems likely.
I for one am glad the pricing of these add-ons isn't as bad as most assumed it would be.

Is this (the initial "Lumines Live" download) worth buying for someone who has the PSP version? I vaguely recall reading something about it being the same game for more money. But everytime I look at Xbox Live Marketplace I feel incomplete somehow without it.

It is essentially Lumines II from the PSP, although slightly cheaper (not much, though).
Of course it has Xbox Live play. So that is your call. How many versions of Lumines do I own?
Lumines, Lumines II, Lumines Mobile, Lumines Live!
But I think it could also be agreed that I am certifiable. :)

I'm happy to see this price drop, even if it's only for a month. I was silently boycotting Lumines Live (simply refusing to pay for it), but it sounds like MS has seen the error of their ways with this one... I guess... well, not really...
I'd still like to see a full-on release of Lumines Live, on a DVD in a 360 case and everything. If they were to release that for the original XBLM price, I'd have bought it right away.

Yes. Glad I have extra points laying around. :)

I am really looking forward to these packs - I just have enough points for both. I am particularly looking forward to the Heavenly Star skin. I saw the video on YouTube a while back, and I thought it was great.
I'm also pleased to see Microsoft are making more content available for free to Gold members. They should really do this more often.
