It looks like I missed out on another good NAVA. I'm hoping I can make it to September NAVA, especially if out of town forum members I have yet to meet come.

Looks like a good crowd.
How's buisness been?
What are your best sellers? Does the modern stuff or the classic stuff keep more bread on your table?
Are store prices the same as the DP guide's?
Hope you're still having fun and the store's a smash hit, good sir!

How's buisness been?
Superb. They say the first six months are the toughest. My first six months were a lot of fun. Hard work but very rewarding. Then the summer came, and business REALLY picked up.
What are your best sellers? Does the modern stuff or the classic stuff keep more bread on your table?
PS2 sells the best overall in my store, but classic stuff on NES, SNES and Genesis are not far behind. My store stocks new titles but not every new title and I rarely have stuff on the day of release so it's definitely a second thought for most people who shop at my place.
Are store prices the same as the DP guide's?
No... I jumped the fence from "collector" to "retailer" so my prices on the whole are higher than the guide. I stay well below eBay prices and customers consistently tell me that my prices are very fair. On contemporary stuff like PS2, XBox, etc my used prices are always $2 or more below what GameStop charges. That info has really caught on with my regulars even though I don't advertise the fact.
Hope you're still having fun and the store's a smash hit, good sir!
It's almost too much fun. I'm not a big fan of sitting behind the register all day but I do enjoy speaking to hardcore gamers and people re-uniting with the classic systems and games of the past. I really enjoy being "the game advisor" when people ask me what they should buy. Best of all, there's an enormous thrill on just about every trade in... is THIS going to be something really cool? Sure, often it's not but sometimes it is, and that makes the experience fun every time.
This reminds me that I need to get the NEXT NAVA date scheduled!

It's awesome to hear your store is doing well, it looks sweet from the photos! According to Google Maps I'm about 2 hours away from your store, and I've been wanting to check it out in the future. Plus it would be awesome to stop in when a lot of the forum members are there. But, me being horrible with directions, and hopefully going to college soon don't help matters. LOL

Yes - please schedule the next NAVA!
Maybe I can hitch a ride with some of the other peeps from my neck of the woods (which isn't that far).
But the sooner it gets on the calendar, the better chance there will be that nothing else edges it out.

Wish I could have made it to the festivities but I did manage to stop in there last week. Always got to pick up at least one thing whenever I am there. :)

I am SO coming to the September one of these! And bringing all those Commodore Monitors too :)
Hmm, need to hunt up some trade-bait. Any interest in a Daewoo Zemmix or a Gakken TV-Boy? :)

Heh, that's just it..not really sure what I want. I will mull it over a while. I tend to collect systems more than games, although I have a fair amount of games. I tend to buy games I will play, and collect the systems themselves. The stuff I don't have at this point are pretty rare:
Adventurevision (obv!)
Olivetti Envision
Video Stellar Systems (Combat Lunaire and Micromat)
RDI Halcyon
TV Jack 8000
Game Master
See what I mean :)

BTW, anyone else in Maryland (Baltimore area) going? Maybe we can carpool?

Hey Joe, you still got some Classic Collectors Guides (Red cover), any chance of putting one aside for me, I could purchase in November?
