Same here. I'd definitly buy the PS2 port considering how much I enjoyed, and still do, Vice City.

I´m informed about this game in Brazilian Game sites and i had preview scans about this game.

I´m very happy about this adds jet skis and swimming habilitiy for Victor Vance, the main character of GTA Vice City Stories.

Before Victor, only Carl Johnson ( AKA CJ ) from GTA San Andreas can be swin.

I seen other charcateristics from the game.
Cuban Hermes, the car of cuban gang is white with flame paints in opposite to GTA Vice City, where his color is black with flame paints.

But i had a question:
- In GTA Vice City Stories would be possible purchases houses and assets likes in GTA Vice City?

I will waits can be possible.

Got a link with the info about the main character, etc for VCS? Anyone know yet if this takes place before or after Tommy's VC takeover? Hmm, Victor's likely Lance's brother then...

Yes, Victor is Lance's older brother. He's one of the guys who sets up the drug deal in the beginning of VC, and is subsequentially killed during it.

From what I have been able to find, the game will take place in 1984, when Victor and Lance are smuggling drugs into VC.

Most of the missions will revolve around Victor getting Lance (who has been getting high on his own supply) out of trouble, and working his way up the crime ladder in Vice (you start out living in a trailer park, so the game will be similar to LCS where the basic map is the same, but some areas are changed).

Victor is going to be played by Ving Rhames, and the character will be able to swim and climb like CJ in San Andreas.

Some other characters include:
Alberto Robina (Umberto's dad)
Diego Mendez (not known if this T-Bone from SA or a relative)
The Truth
Mike Toreno (will unfortunately not be voiced by James Woods, who said in an interview after the whole Hot Coffee "scandal" that he would not have appeared in SA had he known the sort of content in the game)

Since the game takes place before the Mafia tries to get a foothold in the city, the gangs featured will be the Cubans, Haitians, Bikers (Mitch Baker's gang from VC) and Rednecks (who appeared in GTA2).

GTA: VC was such an awesome game. Since Liberty City stories was brought over to the PS2, I'm guessing this one will be as well. Also, here's hoping to another sweet '80s soundtrack. I actually bought the entire 7 disc OST for VC a few years back. :-P

What!? Didin't know the content of the game? What an ass. You'd think that even if Rockstar didn't tell the voice actors about hot coffee, they'd still be able to get a feel for the content and story line by all the "fucks" and "shits" in the script.

And besides who's he to say anything? That guys has almost exclusively played either a villain or low life scumbag in every movies he's been in. Anyone remember Lester Diamond?

Yeah, exactly. One of his lines to CJ in the game (and one of my favorites in any GTA game) is "You'll be home in time for a blowjob and a baloney sandwich".

Toreno is a foul-mouthed drug dealer who threatens to have Sweet put in a cell to get raped by a white supremacist. The guy isn't exactly Super Mario.

Also, Woods is known for sleeping with just about anything that moves (he's curretnly engaged to a 20 year old that looks like she stepped off of a Vivid set) and being a bit of a nutcase (if you saw him this year on Entourage, that's pretty much how he's suppoed to be).

He has been trying to clean up his image a bit, so the Hot Coffee comment might have been some misguided PR attempt - but the whole "glass houses" analogy fits perfectly here IMO.

It's a shame really, since Toreno is one of the best characters in any of the GTA games, and most of that is due to Woods' performance. Hopefully, Rockstar will spring a little more for the voice talent in VCS, since the actors they used in LCS (for the most part) were pretty bad.

Sorry for the double, but I can't seem to find the edit button since the forum re-launch...

Given the limitations of the UMD format, I would say not to expect something on the level of VC's soundtrack. Also, Lazlow has said that he wants to do more behind the scenes work and move away from being a DJ, but hopefully they'll be able to have a full version of V-Rock.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I never liked Vice City (except for the soundtrack) the way I liked 3 or San Andreas, so I'm not really looking forward to Vice City Stories (maybe, again, exceptfor the music). I was kinda hoping they were really gonna do an original game this time time for the PSP but guess not.

Nice seeing VCS is setting things up for VC's events. Wonder how The Truth is gonna fit into this. Hell I hope Love Fist and Rosenburg are in it too.

Rosenberg will probaly be in the game, since he brokered the deal between the Mafia and Victor Vance in the beginning of VC, so I'm pretty sure VCS will highlight the beginnings of his and Victor's relationship.

Love Fist will probably be in the game also, seeing as how the were mentioned in both SA and LCS. Plus, the early 80's were the big time for NWOBHM (new wave of British heavy metal) bands to be breaking into the US market.

I'm not sure exactly how Truth will fit in, but if you remember from SA, he knows Jethro, who was one of the mechanics at the boatyard Tommy buys.

Who now works for CJ in SA. :)
