I just got back from Mcdonald's and got a Yoshi toy from a happy meal. According to the website, the promotion is supposed to start tommorow.

cool, thanks for the heads up! I got buds with little ankle biters who love the whole Mario Kingdom thing. They've been notified.

Man, the last time I had a Happy Meal? Had to be close to a decade now...

Oh fuck, and I'm on a diet.

Maybe I'll just throw the happy meals out.

Okay, I won't do that. I'll find a hobo or something

=\ I just got back from Mcdonalds and got some "The Incredibles" Happy Meal toy. I had to gulp down that burger for nothing. I had the choice to eat crawfish, too..meh, oh well. I should have signed on before I left to go. :P

You can see all the toys here (http://gonintendo.com/?p=5034).

I still have my Super Mario Bros. 3 Happymeal toys somewhere. And that was about the last time I was daft enough to eat a McDonalds too.

The toys look pretty crappy :(

I suppose though - they're happy meal toys, you can't expect too much.

Actually, you can, but it's hit or miss. IMHO McDonalds' Pixar promotions tend to be very well made. I have complete sets of the giveaways for Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc and The Incredibles. The Monsters Inc ones are especially excellent. These are toys for which I would have had no problem paying retail prices.

That being said, I'm not going to zealously pursue this particular Mario set. I was hoping for some nice looking figurines as opposed to a bunch of ticky-tacky gimmick toys. The Mario ball looks sort of cool but that's about it. I'll still probably wind up with a couple owing to my childrens' McHabit. :puke: :puke:

What the heck is yoshi doing with that baseball? and the other Yoshi Figure looks like a Muddy Mudd Skipper bowl caddy...

Donkey Kong is okay, but the Mario Tennis just says "I'm gonna beat my sister/brother with this"

I was looking forward to the set after getting Yoshi. If you press on his back, it plays music. I was hoping the rest of the set would be the same way. Other than the Mario ball, I don't think I will get any more.

I was exited, until I saw some pics...

They look lame. I'd rather spend my $5 on a pack of Pokémon cards (Then go home and make a sandwitch or something) then this.

For those who can't stomach the idea of actually eating a Happy Meal...can't you purchase the toy alone? It's on the menu. My cousin collects Happy Meal toys, and I've been with her a few times when she buys them. She just buys the toy, they even let her pick which one she wants. Mayber her local McD's is just particularly lenient, I have no idea what McDonald's policy is on the toys.

Anyone remember McDonalds' food transformer toy lineup? That was their best. I remember like a Big Mac box that would transform into a robot... it was so cool back in the day.

I like to say the 1st lineup came out somewhere between 88-90 and then like in 92-93 a 2nd lineup came out.

My cousin used to collect HM toys and in her room had them all lined up across two huge shelves like soldiers. It was so boss back in the day being 5 years old, going to your cool cousin's place on the weekend to hang out, see her massive happy meal toys collection and just hanging out, spending quality time together. We used to watch Evie's OUT OF THIS WORLD if any of you guys remember that show.

Anyway, I'm rambling now :embarrassed:

I thought the TV ad was great but I'm not even remotely interested in the toys.

I've seen all the toys. Not a bad idea, but nothing I'd go out of my way to make a McDonald's trip just to get. Wouldn't pass them up if I saw them during a thrift run a few months down the road, though.

Yes, you can buy just the toy. Like their prices of everything, it varies depending on region, but it typically falls in between $1.50-$2.

AT $2, you might as well get the happy meal and give it to a homeless dude. Happy meals last I checked were 1.99 (1996, lol)... but they can't be more than what, 3.50 these days right?

They are still around 2 bucks. Let me say that the Yoshi "tag" toys are super annoying, thats all I heard on a short road trip yesterday. I'm also confused why the power tennis has inflatable mallets instead of a racket to hit the ball with?

I still have almost all of the first ones. Yes, that was their best. I loved those damn things when I was a kid. They made a LOT, too. Like, transforming Hotcakes and Egg McMuffins and crap.

Because one of Mario's power shots in Mario Power Tennis involoves him hitting the ball with a giant mallet.

I got one yesterday, haven't opened it up yet. Might see if I can snag a second one so i can leave one unopened.

I went to my local McD and asked nicely for str mgr. I told her that I collect Nintendo related items, and not only I asked for entire set but I asked for two of each.

I bought this stuff WITHOUT happy meal combo. Each toy was priced at $1.47 plus tax.

True, the toys are not of best quality, but it doesn't matter. I got what I wanted. AN here is a proof for it.

In a week I will post detailed photos of each toy on my site, www.gamescanner.org

See you there!
