This looks like an interesting modification. It would definitely void your warrantee though. All that said, I'd get it straight away if I had a PS2.

Meh.
A modchip is a more seamless and robust solution. No swappity swap. If your going to pay to have something done anyway..

I know a guy that has one of those. He uses it for Beatmania IIDX and stuff, and he says it works quite well. I think the installation was as simple as unscrewing the original case cover, and installing the new one he bought. It sounds a lot less messy than installing a mod chip if you ask me.

I totally agree. A whole lot simpler than installing a Modchip IMHO
