I took a PSOne and a bunch of games to the Gamestation in town and got £24.50 credit. The console was a whopping £8! I was expecting £5 or £6. They didn't have anything worth buying so I went over to the other shop with my credit note.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v297/fibblewith/IMG_0170.jpg

Clu Clu Land and Pinball are almost mint.

I noticed the Master System Converter was marked as £4.99 when it has been £14.99 for a long time. I asked if the price was right and I got it for £4.99.

Disregarding the fact that I spent money on what I traded in, I spent 45p on all of it.

Niku-Sama, that Konami head set you picked up is for Laser Invasion. I don't know how valuable it is, but it'd sure be fun to see how bad the game plays using voice commands ;)

its....funky thats for sure, looked up the rarity and it shows $5 and thats half of what i paid for that whole lot....supprisingly enough i didnt get much in terms of doubles in the games i got, just SMB2, rad racer and rad racer 2 and the super scope 6 cart...its pretty amazing.

HOLY SH*T, niku sama. the summer drought's still going strong where I'm at good job!

yep, things in the wild have just been pickin up as of lately, earlir in this thread i have a boxed atari 2600, may be complete i donno but i got it for $20 but the down side is we only have game crazy, EB Games and still have a Software Ect....no game exchanges or any thing any more so alot of it shows up in garage sales and thrift shops, no one thinks to go to game crazy because as i find out they dont give jack for any thing $15 for a top loading NES $12 for a toaster...funny thing was when i asked that another forum member was behind me.

but yea, i feel your pain ding-dong. just look in places you wouldnt think to, you'll find something and even if you dont it doesent hurt to search arround, good excersize too.

i hunt games and clean them up or repair them more than i play them any more.

Metroid for NES (loose cart): $2

$20 for all of that. Everything except Act Raiser is complete, all of the Sega CD games are in such good condition I swear they were unplayed. The guy who sold them to me knew what they were worth, but he also knows I collect and that I would appreciate it all and was gonna originally give it all to me for free, but I told him I had to give him something for it all.

Not entirely gaming-related, but I did get some decent anime finds yesterday:

Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight DVD collection - NEW! :D : $18
Revolutionary Girl Utena Rose Collection boxset - also new: $20

not really great deals, but I've been looking for both of these for ages, and most of the anime-carrying B&Ms around here don't know the meaning of the word "deal".

I did get a barebones N64 for free, along with a Sonic 2 in an Ecco case. So if anyone wants an N64 for a project console, let me know.

I want to go to Book Broker again... :(

Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade
Outlaws
Lost Eden (Access Software version)
King's Quest IV: The Perils Of Rosella
The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (Solid Gold version)
Mixed Up Mother Goose

Also found copies of the Over the Hedge PC game for $1 each (two boxed, one loose), and Bubble Bobble (NES, loose) for $1.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/SonicGT/827web.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/SonicGT/92web.jpg

I went on Ebay and payed too much for all the stuff in these 2 pics. Oh well, I had birthday money to spend.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/SonicGT/92web-1.jpg
This stuff I got from a dealer in a trade center (big flea market), with the exception of the Controller Pak, which I found at a thrift store, and Feel the Magic, which was at reduced price at KMart.

NES Advantage:$6.00
Gradius and Snake Rattle 'n Roll:$6.00 Each
Stinger: $4.00
Both Genesis games: $6.00 (Out of this World is not complete)
N64 Controller Pak: $2.95
Feel the Magic: $9.00

Finally, there was a sub sale I went to, but it rained after a little bit and so I only got to some of the sales:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/SonicGT/99web.jpg
The Genesis games were $2.50 each, S&K Collection was $1.00 (Yay, I have it again!), and FFVII was $4.00 (didn't really want it but a friend would stop bugging me about it if I did buy it.)

Well, my mom was right in making me hold off on a Saturn all those times, glad I didn't pay $100+ for a sealed system, or even $50-$70 for a CIB one. The waiting has finally paid off, kinda.

At a thrift yesterday, I got my first Sega Saturn(model with oval buttons), a conroller, and a power cord, for $5. Now i just need to find a AV cord, and I will be set. And i think I am going back later to pick up a game for it. It was Sonic Jam, they also had Nights into Dreams but it was just the game in a CD sized case, said Not For Resale. But idk if i will pick it up. Is it harder to find then others? or is it the one packaged with the controller?

Nothing really special today...

I hit up a little hole-in-the-wall shop on the way to work today, and found a few Genesis games:

Sonic the Hedgehog (complete, not for resale edition)
Greendog (complete)
Mortal Kombat (cart only)
and...

ToeJam & Earl! :D (cart & box)

the damage? $3 for all.

Anyone want a complete Sonic? :/

It's the one packaged with the 3D controller, might as well grab it anyway if it's cheap.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v366/cauterize4/finds2/Finds012Custom.jpg

On Monday I traded in a NES to Gamestation which i paid £3 for and got a trade note of £23 for :)
And i got everything in the picture above for a mere £10.98, leaving me with a £12.02 credit note (which will be used in a picture later on!)

Upon arriving home, this had arrived :)

And today...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v366/cauterize4/finds2/Finds015Custom.jpg

Heh 10p for Dave Mirra, needed the Manual so i thought why not!
Theme Park was £1.99
Fishing Rod was £1 :) My other one is a bit tempramental.
Lethal Enforcers II was technically free (£4.99 normally, Got using the credit note with £12 left on from Gamestation)
Splatterhouse 2 was 40p

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v366/cauterize4/finds2/Finds014Custom.jpg

99p ebay resellers from a charity shop... I wont make much on them but i wanna help charity out!
Bill Walsh i needed and came from eBay, in my opinion is probably one of the hardest PAL sports games to get hold of!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v366/cauterize4/finds2/Finds016Custom.jpg

Oh yeah! Computer Exchange was selling off alot of SNES games unboxed for 20p :) (Thats where the Dave Mirra came from)
I cant believe i paid 20p for Revolution X and George Foremans KO BOxing... I clas them as comedy buys...
Ive been amusign myself with KO boxing as Foreman steps in the ring and says "Im Big, Im bad, and im back"
Pure Cheese!

Axelay + the convertor was £4.99
Hybrid Heaven was £1
and The GBC Game i got with the remaining credit on my Credit note for Gamestation :)

Nothing too impressive (All from Gamestop):

- Sonic Mega Colelction (Gamecube. Complete): $12

- Pelacan GCN Retro Pad (SNES-style controller for Gamecube!): $8

- Gamecube Wavebird (Origenal Grey color): $18 (But I had to return it because it's joysticks where screwed up!)

The wiredist part about the Sonic Mega collection was that the disc was in there (And my local Gamestop keeps all games and DVDs behind the counter in a locked drawer)

I've seen those for PS2, too. Except they were NES styled, rectangular and all.

I got my new and sealed copy of The King of Fighters EX2: Howling Blood today. No picture, I can't find the drivers for my stupid camera. :P

The funny thing? It cost me $15, + $6 shipping. But the game had a price tag of $9.99. It seems it was one of those games that Toys'R'Us is liquidating... which means that at least somewhere in the US of A, the game is not rare at all. Yet copies go for $15-$25, cart only, on eBay... Blargh.

I couldn't get back to the thrift store myself, but my mom was nice enough to go for me, sadly Sonic Jam was not there still. But, she picked up NiGHTS for me(the controller pack-in, minus the controller).

Then later on, we went to Goodwill, and I picked up

Socket - Genesis - CIB- $1.81 after discount and tax and etc.

Sometimes the whole case is punctured, or sometimes i'ts got a bit of the spine sawed off. Companies do that so they aren't resold by dealers trying to make a profit, since they're promos and not meant for sale by stores. Lots of eBay sellers (like the infamous Jay and Marie) sell these CDs for cheap.

Stopped at the Goodwill again yesterday - figured why not since I found the Genesis Dual Force Light Guns yesteday and all - Scanning the junk on the shelf and what caught my instant attention but a CIB Atari 2600 - rushed over to see it looked to be complete and at least some games were stuffed in the box along with some controllers - the price $5. Got her home to discover all parts were there for the system as well as 2 almost brand new controllers and practically un-used paddles along with 8 games:

Donkey Kong
Home Run - doesn't appear to work
Combat
Pele's Soccer
Slot Racers
Video Olympics
Hangman

Not the greatest games but who's complaining! I would've posted a pic but was too busy playing Donkey Kong and Combat last night!

Actually, this sounds like a disc that was returned as unsold. They used to do this with LP records. They were called 'cut outs', for those of us old enough to remember vinyl records. I have seen cut outs of CDs and DVDs also. Usually you can find stuff like this at discount stores or liquidators.

Hey, I KNOW VINYL ALBUMS, jeez. I'd buy some but the freakin' turntables are expensive. :P

I doubt that the CD we're discussing was returned. I do agree with you about the "cutout" albums, since many have damaged jewelcases and inserts, but the bar code is cut out of the paper and the jewel case seems intact, so the Nintendo CD is likely a promo version. I have a music DVD that's just the same. :)

Found a mint copy of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow for DS at Gameslop for $29.99 used. This was after a 10-store marathon with no sight of the game anywhere. Two clerks at two different stores tried to convince me that it was a GBA title, while another tried to convince me that he had already sold Portrait of Ruin. Considering what this game's going for on the 'Bay, I was glad to find it even five bucks cheaper than retail. Played it last night & I'm thoroughly enjoying it already. :D

This is again the reason I've been thinking about selling my FF7 and rebuying it after the craze.

As for what I stumbled across today. At the pawn shop I managed to find:
Misc:
8ft RCA cable with gold tips R\L-Audio/S-Video. $8
Records:
Heart - Heart {Great condition}
Kristine W - Lovin' You {Sealed}
Neil Christian - Evolution {Eh, good condition}
Marc et Claude - I Need Your Lovin' (Like the Sunshine) {Sealed}
Laser Disc:
Only the Strong {Very nice condition}

Then at the game store:
SNES:
Cutthroat Island
Full Throttle
Space Ace
-> Each loose, great carts, and $3 each, B2G1 so $6
DVD:
Street Fighter Alpha the Movie {Pretty nice} $9

Been wanting the Street Fighter movie for awhile. I think I've decided to collection a lot of the SF shows and movies (hence the complete DVD set of the JP anime and 1st season of the USA cartoon then the 2 movies), I really need to get a nice poster and maybe a few action figures.

Townwide Yard Sales today, had to cruise the streets to find some yard sales though. Might hit some up tomorrow too, seeing as some people didn't do theirs today as it had rained early this morning.

But anyway I got:

Madden '95 - Genesis - CIB -$1
Model 1 Genesis w/hookups and 2 6-Button controllers, 7 Games - Outrun(Boxed), Evander "Real Deal" Holyfields Championship Boxing(CIB), Sonic 2(CIB, non-NFR), NBA Live '95(CIB), John Madden Football '93(CIB), PGA Tour 3(CIB), and Ecco The Dolphin(loose cart) - $5

Non gaming stuff:
Total was $1 for these 2 items

A Pocketfull of Python - John Clese - book
Soundtrack from Led Zepplin: The Song Stays the Same - 2 Record set

Not a bad day, and if you are poor with math, a total of $7 was spent on all of the above.

I only got a ten CD-Rom package from the mid 1990's which contains several games from the era. That cost me $3. I also bought a ton of CDs, but they're not really meant for this thread, so.

Not much today but it completely offset the horrible amount of nothingness I've seen at the flea market lately.

Big local yard sale, they have it every couple months and I happened to actually be awake and down there at seven o'clock when they opened up. Didn't see much except for a box with the following it in for $5...

2600 - Sears Video Arcade Rev. A (Heavy Sixer version) with AC and instruction booklet :D
2600 - Paddle controllers (Sears version as no Atari marking on either)
2600 - Atari Video Touch Pad with overlay
2600 - Spectravideo joystick (my all time favorite 2600 controller, well, the identical one that Quickshot sold as the Quickshot 1)
2600 - Asteroids cartridge LOL
2600 - Misc Atari catalogs (common as they are, I still always like finding them)
2600 - Misc broken parts from joysticks that were parted and put in the components box

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/DP-Finds-2006-09-16(01).jpg

It all works great but I haven't been able to test the paddles yet as my 2600 games are boxed up in a currently inaccessible place. Which is why I was glad to find the common as dirt Asteroids cartridge in the box. However me + Asteroids cart + nothing else to do this morning = wasted time "playtesting" LOL

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/DP-Finds-2006-09-16(02).jpg

I know people hate the 2600 version of Asteroids but it was the version I grew up playing. I'm not sure if I want to sell this VCS or keep it for myself. It really does look better than the other versions I've had (that shielding does seem to make a difference) but I was just going through my inventory last night and I've been accumulating far too many VCS consoles without any reason to have them. Anyway...

Went over to a church rummage sale and picked up a boxed PS-X-Change import swap disc for 50 cents. I've never really been a big fan of them but oh well, was cheap enough, into the box it goes.

Then I headded over to a trailer park where there was an estate sale and I came across what I've been most psyched to find in quite awhile...

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/DP-Finds-2006-09-16(03).jpg

Yeah, it's a typewriter. My girlfriend was saying just a couple nights ago that she needs a typewriter and of course I had to say how expensive they are, when you find them they never work, what a pain in the ass the working ones you do find are to maintain and whatnot.

Most of the keys didn't work but I figured it had just been sitting for a long time. So I massaged the keyboard for about twenty minutes and finally got each key to type it's character. (I wanted to make sure the printhead disc worked) The sticker said $12, I asked one of the people if he'd take $10 and that was that. So I brought it home and have been cycling through the keys. The typewriter itself is fine, some of the keys are a bit laggy but they're consistently getting better and it's just the membrane under the keyboard being worked back to life. Can still tell it had been used quite abit but it works fine. It's actually a pretty nice model, mid 1980's era. Also comes with the hard case, a dust cover (non matching but it still fits well enough, however I've always felt that these were what mush the keys over time), two replacement ink ribbons (one boxed), and three correction cassettes (plus one other in the box with the boxed ink ribbon).
