EDIT: Actually I'm not sure if this has officially been re-printed. Someone mentioned it at CAG because they saw the game on GQD. Apparently they only have 9 copies in stock now, so nobody is sure what the deal with 2nd Runner is yet.

Nice :) I'm all for reprints as long as nothing is changed or removed.
$40's still a little too much for me, but hopefully that'll make used copys drop all around.

They've got it out to reprint every rare PS2 game, and I guess I can't be all that mad. I mean, I've had quite a bit of these games before they were reprinted, and bought at a store (I've bought so many games that later became rare. I actually bought ZoE2 the day it came out.) so I've just been lucky. I've still yet to pickup a REZ reprint, but I did get a Gitaroo Man reprint.

This is a Konami game that's been reprinted. If I'm not mistaken isn't this the first one that's received a reprint from GQD?
I remember talking to the CEO of GQD at E3 earlier this year and he was trying hard to get some of the more sought after games in Konami's lineup.
Could other sought after Konami franchises be next? Suikoden II?

Disgaea has already been "reprinted" several times by Atlus themselves.
Personally, I'm hoping for Suikoden II...seeing as I never picked it up when it came out originally. I refuse to pay $150 for a copy on ebay.

That won't happen like it did with Persona 2 and Rhapsody (among a few others) because what GQD is doing is putting them up on their site for a little while, and then selling off the rest to EB/GS. Since EB/GS have stopped carrying PS games I don't think that were gonna see any more PS reprints. Not to mention that Suikoden should be hitting the PSP sooner or later here in the States.

I want to get both a copy of the Rez and Gitaroo man reprints, I heard they were good games,
I don't care about the Zoe 2 reprint because I have a copy :) I love the game though, I would love to see a sequel

EB/Gamestop sells used copies of ZOE 2 for $40 a pop. Usually when they sell used stuff at anything over $35 for PS2, that means its either a newer release or a rare title. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is sold for $60 used there now.

How much was the game going for on eBay before this supposed reprint? I remember seeing multiple copies of this game at GameStop for around 17 or 18 dollars a couple of years ago and didn't think much of it.

I've got a sealed copy that I picked up from Target on clearance a few years ago, so I'll check the Ebay prices on it sometimes.
Used copies used to sell for around $20-$30 for a while but it looks like the prices have been going a little higher lately. Looks like sealed copies are selling for around $60-$80.
Again, I'm not 100% positive if this got a re-print or not. Someone brought it up at CAG but had my doubts after I posted about it here. The thing about GQD re-prints is that you see a flood of them on Ebay and at EB/Gamestop. Haven't seen any of that yet.

if they are going to reprint they might as well grab the Special Edition came out in PAL and later in Japan...

I looking at trade in value at gamestop for marvel vs capcom 2 ps2 it is 30 dollars. I was a little tempted to trade it in.
It got me thinking about a reprint but will the marvel license stop all reprinting of that game because it would be too expensive?

Ack! Don't trade it in there, trade it to me. I've got the Xbox version but I can't live without the PS2 one and have been looking for it forever. I'll give ya a good deal for it too.
From what I've heard, Capcom no longer holds the rights to the Marvel games, so they couldn't re-print them even if they wanted too. I suppose they could try and buy them back but seeing how everything Marvel is blowing up right now, I'm sure they want too much money.

Yup. For less casually popular games like ZoE2 though, when the Gamestop/EB price skyrockets like that it means GQD did a reprint (we are basically GQD's biggest customer). This is done so they can dump their entire used stock for a much higher price than is warranted. Many stores in the northeast region as an example got shipments of ZoE2 recently that are immaculate, but unwrapped without the seal even being broken. They're shipped to Gamestop new and then moved to "used" for price purposes. ZoE2 was an $8.99 game until very recently.
I doubted this was a GQD reprint as well but ninety-nine percent of the time when we get shipments directly from corporate of this nature AND the used price shoots up like that at the same time...

I saw a "new" used copy just yesterday at EB. I was going to pick it up until I saw that definitive $39.99 price tag...

I was always under the impression it wasn't that rare, just highly sought after and one that people tended to hold on to. Jesus though, $40 for a used game? This EB/GameStop merger has been bad from the beginning. I picked mine up used from a GameStop for $20. Anyway, I'm glad this is supposedly getting a reprint, hopefully more people will get to play this game and demand a 3rd one.

I thought the abundance of ZoE2 had something to do with this promotion a while back:

...but... after hearing the accounts of the newish copies showing up, it sure sounds like GQD.
Why doesn't someone contact GQD and just ask? :)

Because you'll never get a straight answer out of GQD. They totally lied about the Rez, Rhapsody, and Persona 2 re-prints. When they first started selling them, they initially said they "found" an undisclosed amount of them and had an very limited supply to sell. Once new but unsealed copies started showing up at every Gamestop and EB store in the country, they finally admitted there was a re-print.
People say that GQD is good for the gaming community by re-releasing rare and expensive titles, which may be true (even though they are selling the games slightly less than Ebay prices). But they are no different than the collectors who snatch rare games up and sell them on Ebay for a huge profit.

no when they reprint them like this isnt there usually a white line along the top of the art under the PS2 logo?
weither they are reprints or not i still notice there arent many reprints of Rez, or Gitaroo Man arround. i am guessing but it seems to be they run about the same ammount reprinted as they do for the initial run
