I recently bought a copy of Thousand Arms (Link (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&item=290022246108&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1)) from a seller who only had two feedback, both positive. When I won the auction, I found that they didn't accept Paypal (which is fine with me) and shipped via UPS (which sort of sucks, but I can deal with it), and I was sent through a third party checkout system. Nowhere in eBay's emails is the seller's full address, and neither was it on the checkout system. In this process, I emailed the seller two or three times, asking, among other things, whether or not I could send cash, if they could ship it via USPS instead of UPS, and, most importantly, what their fucking address is so I can send the payment. All two or three of these emails went unresponded to. A week passes, and still no contact is made (although in this time they've received six more positive feedback, so apparently someone's getting their address). I sent them an email a week after the auction ended and said that they had 24 hours to respond before I initiated eBay's non-performing seller process and left them negative feedback. They responded quickly to that with a very curt email which said that they never received any emails from me, that I had not responded to their invoice (which isn't true), and that payment hadn't been received. I emailed them back and said that payment hadn't been received because I had not gotten their address yet. They responded to that with an email that had their address in it, but no other text at all. Also, their most recent feedback now is a negative (although it seems to have been left by a retard). The point is, I am now very heistant to send money to this water-headed fuck-up. What's the best way to handle this?

I would go ahead and pay. The negative he has seems to not be too valid as the auction does say slightly used. If you don't pay are you willing to take the hit and the negative it will bring?

Use this to try and get the phone number of the seller..

Find Contact Information
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQtZvbQQsofindtypeZ9

Then call them up..(it's what I do for non paying bidders or in situations like yours..

You do know that their address is right in the item description, at the end, in big letters, right?

I don't see why you wouldn't pay. The seller is not a scammer and you won the item fair and square. You don't have to like the seller to finish the transaction. Just pay and they'll ship. No big deal.

I have to slightly disagree with the two posters above me. I'm not saying I wouldn't pay myself, or that I'm advising you shouldn't... but I'd be very weary of that seller... not answering 3 emails is bad, but then they claim they never received it, yet somehow magically received the one which involved taking action through eBay's feedback system? Sounds fishy to me, and the whole 3rd party thing.

Anyway, good luck with w/e you do. If you end up not paying, I can't say I blame you...[/b]

My rule with new sellers on E-Bay is, if something doesn't seem right then I walk away. I hate when sellers don't reply to e-mails, IMO thats grounds enough to walk away.

If you don't pay, you are at risk of recieving a negative feedback. If you do pay, you are at risk of being scammed. I'd much rather recieve a negative than be scammed. Even if it's just $20, it's the principal of being scammed that sucks. Recieving a negative feedback is not the end of the world. I agree with JerseyDevil in that "If it seems fishy, walk away" attitude. I'd probably walk away if I were you.

Sorry about the double post, but I can't edit my topic anymore. :(

New Seller + Doesn't Accept PayPal + 89% Feedback Rating + Doesn't Reply To Emails = WALK AWAY

Actually, no, I never noticed that until you pointed it out. It was suspiciously absent from both eBay's emails and the checkout system (town and zip code were repeated twice, but street address was missing).

Anyway, I'm not averse to going through with this auction, and currently plan to send them payment today (in the form of a money order rather than cash). I pretty much just started this thread to see if that was a bad idea or not. And if I paid a premium price for the game (it sometimes sells for $40-50) I'd take the negative and walk away, but since I would be quite pleased to get the game for $25 shipped I'll go ahead and take the gamble. Anyway, thanks to all for your advice.

Hell, I act like this even with power sellers. They're less likely to respond to your emails, but still. :)
