Hi Folks,
Does anyone know where I can find the plans to build an NES cart dumper, and/or software to do it? I have several protos I want to dump, and a few where I just want to hack some games and to correct the stupid wrong Game Genie codes that came with the GG book, and to make codes for different versions of the same games (Jap and Amer. versions of Starforce, particularly).
Hope you guys can help. Oh, while we're at it, does anyone know where to find plans do dump VCS games?
Thanks guys and gals,
Yours,
Rob

There was a pln on the internet a few years ago where you can use IO-48 for the PC and hook up almost any game cart to it for dumping but the detailed information covered NES and Gameboy. I lost the bookmark and I havn't been able to find it since then.
Someone over at Atariage.com is making 2600 cart reader to sell, you might want to head over there and ask about it.

@rbudrick: just curious, what protos do you have?

Hi There,
For NES, I have Terminator 2...funny, I used to think it was Total Recall I had...well, at least it's an Arnold game, lol.
For VCS, I have a whole bunch...nothing too too rare or unreleased, but a few lab protos, some unfinished versions, some testers. Examples: Snoopy and the Red Baron, Pitfall II, Unfinished Megamania, and others.
So no one knows where to find the NES dumper plans?
Talk soon!

Rob

I think this is what you are looking for. I haven't built one myself yet, but it is on the list of projects to be done. Let us know how you make out.

I remember seeing this one before....super-complicated, as far as other homemade dumpers for other systems I've seen go....hmmm...I remember Kev Horton was selling for these $175 (if you supply the NES) once and I wrote him twice and offered to buy one, but he never wrote back. I had the $ ready to go too! Anyone know of any other NES dumper plans (and/or how to get a hold of Kevin)?
Thanks again!!
Yours,
Rob

Hi Guys,
I wrote Kevin again, and hopefully he will reply. I think I remember reading in a forum once that he made about 10 of these, but the time and effort were so great that he didn't want to make more unless it was really worth it (say 10 more?) I have absolutley no clue whther this is accurate though (this was like a year and a half ago, I think). However, if anyone else wants one, speak out and maybe (if making them bulk is indeed an issue for him) he will consider...who knows...
Hey, what DPer couldn't use a CopyNes, lol.
Talk soon,
Rob
