Recently picked up a Sega 16/32-bit mothership (Mega Drive, Mega CD and 32X) in the massive bundle I acquired not long ago, but unfortunately, the cables all came in a bit of a hodgepodge and sorting through them has kinda given me a bit of an arseache.
In short, can you use a MD2 rf unit with the 32X? First time round I owned one I seem to remember there being some issue with them.

ROFL It really is a mothership, I won't be missing that large beast once I get rid of it. I don't have a model 2 RF adapter so I can't answer you question though.

No, I'm pretty sure it's straight. The ads seemed to indicate that, at least.

You remember that huge alien ship that the Fresh Prince and The Fly went to to blow up? I believe the Gen/CD/32x combo is roughly the same size as that ship.

Yeah an RF cable will work fine since the Genesis 2 RF cables actually have the RF converter in the box of the cable itself, so they only need composite video and audio (and power) from the console, not an actual RF signal which neither the 32X nor the Genesis 2 outputs directly.
The problem you might be remembering is the pretty bad RF interference from the 32X that will ruin the image quality. You need the little metal clippy things that go in the Genesis cartridge port to clear that up. We had a discussion about those a couple weeks ago and whether or not it would be possible to jimmy up some of your own out of tin foil or something if you don't have the original ones. Better to just get a composite AV cable, though, they're not hard to find. Or actually, since you're in Europe I assume, you should be using RGB SCART.

Keep in mind that there's a special cable that you HAVE to use to hook the Megadrive's video-out to the 32X's video-in. A lot of people don't realize this, and end up losing the cable or buying a system without it, and are then in trouble. If you don't have this cable, you'll have a number of odd video issues (some games won't show any video at all, or only certain parts of the screen).

I lost that stupid "special" cable for a year once. There's an even specialer adaptor cable you need, too, if you have the older Genesis/MD.
