I didn't make this list.
The top has these games in following order:
10.) Final Lap Twin
9.) Dungen Explorer
8.) Keith Courage in Alpha Zones
7.) Legendary Axe
6.) JJ and Jeff
5.) Devil's Crush
4.) Splatter House
3.)Bonk's Adventure
2.) Bonk's Revenge
1.) Bloody Wolf
Any thoughts and what would of been your top ten list on Top 10 tg 16 games?

I am puzzled to no end how JJ and Jeff managed to get on that list, and how Blazing Lazers was omitted.
Other than that, I can agee, although military madness deserves a spot up there too.

Good Call! Why Bloody Wolf is number one I will never understand. I am actually a huge proponent of that game, but other than the fact that it was promoted heavily when the system was out, I see nothing that makes it the best. Though it is GameFAQs...
There are some interesting choices on there. Final Lap Twin is a standout. The racing RPG mode is awesome. Maybe not top 10 great, but a nice choice. Blazing Lazers being omitted is unforgiveable. If there was ever a reason to own a system it was that game. I am also one of the seemingly few that like the original Bonk better than any of its sequels.
Galaga '90, Soldier Blade, Neutopia & Blazing Lazers belong on that list. Yes, this is shmup heavy, but the TG 16 shmups are some of the real jewels of the entire genre, much less the system they appeared on. Also strange to see the lack of Bomberman.
Here are my picks:
10) Ninja Spirit
9) Soldier Blade
8) Galaga '90
7) Bomberman '93
6) Neutopia
5) Splatterhouse
4) Devil's Crush
3) Legendary Axe
2) Bonk's Adventure
1) Blazing Lazers
Those are some heavy hitters. Love the Turbo. I can understand if people disagree on my rankings, as the Number 1 is a very personal choice, and I too left Military Madness off. I am just an action fan at heart. I will say that Dungeon Explorer was giving Ninja Spirit a run for its money, but I have always felt that one was overrated. Cool tunes though!

Keith Courage? Hardly a good game at all. I guess to say that most gamefaqs people haven't played too many TG-16 games before! x_x

These "top ten" lists are submitted by users at GameFaqs. You COULD make a list yourself and submit if you feel so strongly about these. Probably most of the people who still play older consoles over there are casual gamers.

Isn't JJ & Jeff the US version of Kato-chan & Ken-chan? And isn't that what the Japanese (rightfully so) call a shit-game?

Replace Keith Courage with Parasol Stars and everything would be fine, how PS got skipped is anyone's guess.

Bloody Wolf is my favorite overall TG game, but man Keith Courage? JJ and Jeff/Kato and Ken? Those games are painfully mediocre.

Heh, I fell into the same trap in the other top ten thread. Can't be so careless with our precious edit post abilities misplaced!

Is it really THAT good?
Order of the Griffon?
I'm a D&D fan, so hell yea.
But like I said, if you included the Japanese PC Engine CD/SCD/ACD in this list. OOTG would fall out of the top 10.

Order of the Griffon is awesome even if you're not a D&D fan, I was mocking your accidentally listing Legendary Axe II twice. ;)

Can normal users write reviews and top ten lists on gamefaqs.com?
I noticed quite a few spelling errors and grammatical mistakes.

What's the deal with that game anyway? Was it originally some kind of Bomberman title? Also anyone who likes Sunsoft's NES Batman, they use the same music in the TG-16 game after the first board. Good stuff.

I have to remove these games from their "top" list:
Keith Courage in Alpha Zones
JJ and Jeff
Bonk's Revenge
Bloody Wolf
In their place we could put games like:
World Court Tennis (a precursor to Virtua Tennis - and has Quest mode similar in fashon to Final Lap Twin)
Military Madness
Blazing Lazers
Cratermaze
Chew Man Fu
Magical Chase
Bomberman '93
Parasol Stars
These are difinitive games in the Turbo Grafx library! WTF Bloody Wolf #1 yeah right. Keith Courage is par at best and JJ and Jeff is mildly fair.
I noticed no CD games on the list - though some should be remembered as pinical games in the Turbo Grafx legend, games such as:
Y's Book I & II
Cosmic Fantasy 2 (the FIRST 3rd party CD console game ever)
Lords of Thunder (Duo)
Legend of Heroes: Dragon Slayer
Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams

I have to ask, is there a reason people adore Blazing Lazers so much? The levels are so bland and long (in a bad way, it makes Super Aleste/Space Mega Force feel like F-Zero AX) and while having so many levels of power per weapon is great, it doesn't really touch Compile's other shmups. Even the music is pretty low quality compared to the other shumps Hudson published on the Turbo. It's above average but I find myself playing (albeit easier) Soldier Blade and Super Star Soldier much more.

how can you have a top ten list of tg16 games without any shooters?

Yeah, but JJ & Jeff cuts out all of the scatalogical humor.
I'll agree that this list is pretty weak, but not surprising considering the source. The actual FAQs/code stuff on GameFAQs is invaluable, but pretty much everything else on that site is crap.

Their list isn't terrible for it being gamefaqs but mine would go something like this:
1. Galaga '90
2. Ninja Spirit
3. Devil's Crush
4. Blazing Lazers
5. Bonk's Revenge
6. Bloody Wolf
7. Neutopia 2
8. Legendary Axe
9. Bomberman '93
10. Cadash
That is if were only talking U.S. and no cd games. I like Keith Courage and JJ and Jeff but I don't think they deserve a top 10 spot. Especially with stuff like galaga '90 and devil's crush out there.

Jesus, did these people actually play some of the games? The list looks like it was thrown together by just getting some random popular Hucard games.

Since I'm a huge Turbo lover myself, I'll go ahead and chime in with my personal top 10 list for Turbo. I'll limit it to U.S. Hu cards of course.
1. Bonk's Adventure - I know that most prefer the sequel, I like the sequel alot too, but I have to give it up for the original. Some of the best tunes on a Hu card. Incredibly colorful and just a superb game overall. Absolute must own for anybody with a TG-16
2. Dungeon Explorer - I know I have this game rated way higher than most, but man do I love Dungeon Explorer. Music is fantastic, multiplayer action is a blast, it's a pure action game, with a slight dash of RPG thrown in the mix. You can all it a action/rpg, but it's much heavier on the action, and did I mention the tunes?
3. Legendary Axe - This game has some issues with the controls and collision detection, it's not the most forgiving game when it comes to controlling your character, but I just love the overall feel of the game. It's just oozing with that classic Turbo feel.
4. Military Madness - The best compliment I can give this game is the fact that I normally have absolutely zero interest in these types of games, but this game had me totally captivated for a number of months when it first hit the scenes.
5. Splaterhouse - Another great action adventure, great graphics, great sounds, good playability, the total package. I do have to admit that as time has gone on, this game has lost some of it's original luster to me, but when it first came out, it was the game that I showed off my TG-16 with.
6. Bonk's Revenge - This is an outstanding platformer, many consider it much better than Bonk 1, and from a technical standpoint, they are probably right. However I still prefer the original for some weird reason. Still Bonk's Revenge is an absolute classic.
7. World Class Baseball - I know that most people are going to think I'm out of my damn mind to be ranking WCB in the top 10, but man, me and my buddies played the living crap out of this game. This is an arcade type baseball game, not a sim, but it had amazing music, great sound effects, and awesome playability. We had leagues in this game, tournaments, etc, etc, and it was absolutely wonderful. Believe me, if you give this game a real chance it will grow on you. Even though it had Japanese teams or fake teams or whatever, me and all my roomates absolutely fell in love with this game.
8. Devil's Crush - This game is similar to Military Madness, in the fact that it was so good, that even though it was not my normal type of game, I had to play it. I just love the atmosphere of the game, and it was such a break from the norm for me.
9. AeroBlasters - Most will say WTF to me listing this game, but I happen to prefer horizontal shooters to vertical shooters, and I've always liked this game. Sue me.
10. Power Golf - Again, I know that most people will think WTF, with me listing Power Golf, but this game had absolutely outstanding gameplay. The incredible music didn't hurt either. Great graphics and sounds and playability. Golf isn't my thing, but I was hooked on this game back in the day.
Honerable Mentions -
Neutopia - I've played this game briefly on a emulator, but I didn't want to spoil the experience, and I'm still trying to track down a loose Hu card for a decent price. I can't rank a game that I haven't really experienced, so that is why it's off my list.
Blazing Lasers - This is a really nice shooter, it's just that I don't prefer vertical shooters. I've only played a couple of levels, it's possible that if I played the game from beginning to end, I'd have it ranked in the top 10
Final Lap Twin - I really love this game, and it almost made it into my top 10. This was another game that me and my roomates would play constantly. The two player split screen is what it was all about.
Ninja Spirit - Ninja Spirit is a great game, but it just doesn't blow me out of the water. I like it quite a bit, but I don't have this special place in my heart for it, or anything like that. Still, highly recommended
Bloody Wolf - I had Bloody Wolf back in the day, and I did enjoy it, but I don't see why it would be ranked so high on peoples lists. It's a good TG-16 game, but on many other systems it would be considered mediocre at best.
Air Zonk - I've only played the CD version briefly, so I can't really comment on the Hu Card version. I just don't have enough time with it to really comment.
Neutopia 2 - I haven't played this game at all, I want to play Neutopia 1 first. I've heard it's good, but I can't really comment one way or the other.
Soldier Blade - I've played this a little bit, and it's pretty damn sweet, again, I'm not much into vertical shooters, I prefer horizontal, but I must give credit where credit is due. I probably would have this ranked high on my list had I played it back in the day and had nostalgic feelings for it like I do the rest of my top 10
R-Type - Haven't played this Hu card yet, but I'm thinking I would like it.
Raiden - Havent' played this Hu card yet, but I'm sure I would enjoy it. I really like the Jaguar version. This game seems to have appeared on virtually every system known to man.
Keith Courage in Alpha Zones - The reason this game was ranked is because everybody that ever had a Turbo has likely played it, just because it was a pack in, and they might as well try it. I actually enjoy this game to a degree, and I have alot of nostalgic feelings towards it, because I spent alot of time with it because it was a pack in. But to be honest, it's not that great a game at all, but I do have that nostalgia for it.
There are lots of other TG-16 games that I still want to play, I'm always on the hunt for more TG-16 Hu cards, the TG-16 is my second favorite system of all time (got to give it up to the SNES as the pound for pound best system ever). It's hard to really comment on alot of the games, cause some look kinda cool, but might totally blow and I'm not to sure about alot of them. I've got a good stack of Hu cards right now, but I'm always looking for more, and once I get to have some hands on time with many more of them, I'm sure my rankings could change slightly, but I'll still stand by my top 10 as being outstanding hu cards.

I agree with you here too. I personally feel that the first Bonk is the best though many go with Bonk's Revenge as being the better title.
9. AeroBlasters - Most will say WTF to me listing this game, but I happen to prefer horizontal shooters to vertical shooters, and I've always liked this game. Sue me.
Aero Blasters is a nice game but for horizontals I like to go with Magical Chase or R-Type -- though R-Type is a good game it does suffer some major flicker though absoutly NO slowdown!
Air Zonk - I've only played the CD version briefly, so I can't really comment on the Hu Card version. I just don't have enough time with it to really comment.
I prefer the Hucard over the CD. I just get a more refined feeling from the Hucard version. Hucard is also more challangeing. I don't know how to say it I just jike Air Zonk over Rockabiliy Paradise.
Soldier Blade is probably the best though I pay homage to Blazing Lazers. I personally feel that Super Star Soldier is the weekest of these titles(It is a GREAT shootie though!) and Soldier Blade is the strongest but I just spent so much time with Blazing Lazers and still find it refreshing today.
Bloody Wolf - I had Bloody Wolf back in the day, and I did enjoy it, but I don't see why it would be ranked so high on peoples lists. It's a good TG-16 game, but on many other systems it would be considered mediocre at best.
Bloody Wolf to me is a fair game at best. For this style of game I will take Rambo III(Genesis) every time. Controls in Bloody Wolf sometimes seem choppy. I do like the twist in the game and where you get to use both characters but I cant see it in the top 10 yet alone no. 1, top 25 seems more realistic for Bloody Wolf.
