Classic games played through e-mail

I just recently got a good game of Civilization together through e-mail with a few of my friends. It's slow going but we've been having a bunch of fun... take your turn at your leisure, etc. The game will probably last us a good chunk of the year at the rate we've been passing it around, and with how long Civ games tend to go, but I'm not complaining.

I know at least one of the Heroes games can be played through e-mail like this. Can anyone suggest any other good ones? I'd love to find other games to play this way.

There's at least one X-COM game that I think works that way. Laser Squad Nemesis, a much more recent game that you should be able to find easily, also has this feature, apparently.
