I didn't make this list.

The top has these games in following order:

10.) Metamorphic Force (arcade)
9.)Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge (SNES)
8.) Rocket Knight Adventures (Genesis)
7.) Gunstar Heroes (Genesis)
6.) Streets of Rage 2 (Genesis)
5.) Phantasy Star: The End of the Millennium (Genesis)
4.) Mega Man X (SNES)
3.)Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master (Genesis)
2.)Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys (Turbo CD)
1.) Akumajo Dracula X: Chi no Rondo (Turbo CD)

Any thoughts and what would of been your top ten list on Top 10?

I think this list was inaccurate at parts and seems to depend on when the game was first released in what country in year instead when the game was released in most countries. I also think this person used gamefaqs for year of the games mentioned. I got a issue with Streets of Rage 2 for the genesis being on this. The genesis version was released 1992 everywhere and the 8 bit version of Streets of rage 2 was released then. If thise was top 10 games in 92, then I got no problem. Phantasy Star 4 shouldn't be on this list for 1993, should be in 1994 instead. It was released in Japan in 93, but that is the only place arcording to http://www.vgrebirth.org . That game was supposed to be released in 93 in the states but wasn't.

I never played 10,9,2,1 in the ranking of the top 10. Akumajo Dracula X blongs its spot on this or in the top 5 if I had a chance to place it. I would keep 8,7,4,3,1 on the list for sure or have considerations. I for games that I played that came out in 1993 I would add these games on my list: Mutant League Football-genesis, Sonic 3, Lufia-snes,Shining force -genesis, Samurai Showdown and keep 8,7,3 on the list. I would've changed where Gunstar Heroes was at least and put it a couple spots higher.

I would've had these games as honorable mentions Bust-a move-arcade, Kirby's Adventure-nes, Duck tales 2-nes, Bomberman, Super bomberman, Mortal Kombat 2-arcade, Super Mario All-stars, The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening, Street fighter 2: turbo-snes, Eternal Champions. If I played the Sega cd version of Sonic cd, I would've put in my top 10 instead of Mutant League Football.

On games that didn't play, I put Bonk 3-tg -16, Lunar Silver Story-sega cd, Lords of Thunder-tcd in the states, Lost vikings-nes, and Star Fox-snes as games I would put down on the list or considered. I might of forgotton some, but it was a great year for games. :)

I have a hard time believing that there were no good games being released on computers in that year.

I would take Secret of Mana over Metal Combat, personally.

I don't. PC gaming blew in '92 and '93, then in '94 everything was okay again.

I don't. PC gaming blew in '93 (especially after stuff like Civilization, Wolfenstein 3D, etc. coming out in '92), then in '94 everything was okay again.

I would have liked to see Secret of Mana on that list. Rondo of Blood being 1 shows what a cult following the title has.

I have a hard time to believe that myself, but I understood why there was no computer games on that list. I think the person did the list was not much of a computer gamer. It is possible. If a person is familar with arcade and console gaming, when you do a top 10 like this, you wouldn't put any games that your not familiar with like computer games for the most. If the person doing a top 10 games of a year without a lot of knowledge in computer games makes one is debateable. A person like that can do a year list on great games if it is a arcade and game console gamelist of top games is called top 10 arcade and game console games in 1993.

I am not a computer gamer in the past and I am not now either. I am not a computer gaming expert. I heard or read about some great computer games in the past like zork though. Some of them I know were due to game consoles doing computer ports of games. I know doom came on pc in that year. Other Computer games if the dates are right are Myst, Syndicate,Cannon Fodder. I don't know if all those all considered great computer games for sure. There are more then I mentioned.

PC gaming is much more diluted than console release lists can ever hope to be though. WHen you take the eighty or so games from two years that are worth playing and put it next to the thousands of examples of feces that PC gamers are afflicted with it doesn't amount to as much as it could.

God I'm so jaded about PC gaming it's pretty ridiculous how much it clouds my writing. I really don't know if I was being sarcastic or not. 1993 does deserve credit for being the last year where "PC game" wasn't a synonym for "YOU ARE SOLDIER/CYBORG/MERCENARY SENT BY THE GOVERNMENT/CORPORATION/ARMY TO SHOOT THE DEMONS/ALIENS/MUTANTS. USE THE MOUSE TO AIM OMG A REVOLUTION!"

Man I remember Doom coming out though. The shareware was out much earlier but when the full game was released in early December and it was fantastic. It would get banned from schools and offices all the time. Being able to get Doom running on the school library computer was the ultimate path to geek credentials. Good times. The Ultima VII games also provided some of the best gaming I've ever experienced on a PC.

Iff they included the PC games in the list there would have only been a couple console games on it...

Why are they choosing an import for #1? Was that the only good import game?

I too take issue with SOR2 being "released" in 1993.

And no mention of "DOOM?? on that list? Another fitting GameFAQ list.

that list is just of games that have aged well ;)

virtua fighter 1 was groundbreaking at the time, as was virtua racing on model 1 ;)

Virtua Racing was 1992. Virtua Fighter should definitely be on the list, as should Doom. What a lame list.

WTF is up with SOR2 being on there? '92 dumbasses. I that's right, I forgot, THIS IS GAMEFAQS WE'RE TALKING ABOUT HERE. The SOR thing was the first thing I noticed.

In short, 1993 was one of my favorite years of the console wars. Genesis truly triumphed, sporting some of the most incredible titles of the era. While I loved both my SNES and my Genesis, I always stuck with the underdogs, so I was very happy to see Sega get one over on Nintendo for a little while. What a great year!

So these are GaIcian's favorite games of 1993.

I wonder if he actually had Dracula X for the Turbo Duo back then...

The PC wasn't the only computer in '92 and '93.
