Is it possible to know the firmware version of the PSP just by looking at the model number on the box of Japanese PSP?

I want to buy a Japanese PSP with firmware ver. 1.5 and there are many new ones in Japan with model number 1000 printed on the box. I am not sure if that necessarily means it is firmware ver. 1.5.

Please help. Thanks!!!

(I thought I'd resurrect this thread instead of starting a new one...)

I have two questions about Japanese PSP games, in a very general sense.

1) Are the "Simple 2500" games just cheap games, and always have been, or are they price-lowered games, like the "Greatest Hits", "Player's Choice" and "Platinum Hits" serieses here in the US? It seems like the former, but I want to make sure it's not the latter.

2) I've seen some "idol"/"hentai"/(who knows) type titles, which have the "UMD Video" banner, but which eBay sellers claim are games, or have games in them. Cases in point:

Kaede Matsushima Sexy Girl Yakyuken (http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-PSP-Kaede-Matsushima-Sexy-Girl-Yakyuken-Japan-New_W0QQitemZ250041382845QQihZ015QQcategoryZ127748 QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem)
Mihiro's Japan Sexy Girl (http://cgi.ebay.com/New-PSP-Game-Mihiros-Japan-Sexy-Girl-Casino-Game_W0QQitemZ260050688964QQihZ016QQcategoryZ91514 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Is there any actual gameplay to these? I mean, I wouldn't think there'd be much at all if they're listed as UMD Video, yet that island explorer thing is labelled a game, and I sure wouldn't pay much for these things, but they're kind of tempting just for the silliness of it if they really DO play some kind of game instead of just being pictures to salivate over.
