A project of ours for YEARS!

I would like to but I live in South Eastern AZ. I like the fact that you also have table top games like MechWarrior in their.

Cool - I may have to make the journey there. There can never
be too many game stores in Mn.

If I'm ever in that area, I will definetly check it out. I think the EB/Gamestop juggernaut has killed off all the independent game shops in the Twin Cities.

Yeah Wyatt, looks nice. My brother has made your store a favorite place of his. I just need to make the trip down.

How is business so far? I wish I had a store like this around my area.

That's a nice little (or not so little, obviously) store ya got there. After setting mine up, I know all of the hardwork you guys went through to get up and running. I really hope you succeed, and you're certainly in a good spot to do so. Here's to game stores that don't conform to the norm. Congrats!

As far as all of the independant stores in the Twin Cities being dead, allow me a simple plug for mine. World of Games in Lakeville. I've kept it sort of underground the first few months in business, but it's at the point where I can feel confident that if you stop by, you'll find something interesting.

Thanks for the support guys.

I should have taken better images. Or at least directed them a bit better. There's a ton of good stuff in there - games from atari to xbox, imports etc... I also got the hookup here in NY to send over some collectible stuff you wont find anywhere else in the midwest... or even in the country. You can't see in the images all the Famicom keychians, and the NES stage figures, magnets, plush toys, watches, and other japanese stuff. I'll have see if Wyatt can take some better shots of the wares...

WHOA! I live in TX but my in-laws live near Winona...I'll have to stop in when I'm up for Thanksgiving!

I'll definitely be there if I'm ever in your area.

& Neil Koch, you've got some looking around to do. As I've said before here, I have at least 6 regular places to shop for games, not including GS/EB.

Yeah, I'm sure there are some places around the TC area, but I don't have a car right now -- and the bus/train system is horrible, especially once you get out of Mpls/St Paul.

Are there any in the cities (not the suburbs)?

That looks awesome. One day when I retire, I want to have a shop like that...maybe a little smaller though :)

I'll stop by and see what the store has, I live in Southern MN (Rochester).

Is the store catering to WSU students (I graduated here BTW)? The whole state has a lot of retro/non-mainstream gamers, my buddy has store called Hi-Score Video

I disagree with the notions that all small stores are run over by GS, ask anyone trying to trade in their used games to GS, it's laughable! Many independent stores offer much more generous store credits, and believe it or not, there're still a lot of people digging old 8-16 bit system games. This is the case in TC area (not sure about other parts of US)

Neil, you can go to Hi-Score's Maplewood location by bus, it's one block behind 3M, the same plaza with McDonalds

705 Century Avenue N
Maplewood, MN 55119

Ask Paul/Jerry and see what bus will take you there.

Thanks for the info, but that wouldn't work for me - it's a 3-bus 75-minute trip during the week, and no service at all during the weekend. I really want to get a car, but it's not feasible for me right now living in downtown Mpls, since I would have to rent a parking space.

I knew there had to be a few more places around somewhere! I'm checking out Hi Score tommorrow and will stop in World of Games in lakeville on Monday on lunch break! Too bad the Warp Shop wasn't around when I was going to St. Mary's - would've hung out there definitely - I Assistant Managed Face the Music in back in the day...

I just checked out their website - I totally looked over that Maplewood Mall kiosk a few weeks ago - thought their prices were a bit steep for mostly cart only games in my opinion...

Although I was mostly eyeing their Atari 2600's but were way more than I wanted to pay at like $55-70 or whatever they were - good thing too since I ended up finding a CIB 2600 4 switch woodie at the friggin Goodwill with 2 brand new joysticks and a set of brand new paddles with 8 games all for $5 bucks a week later - thank you very much!

Great news! It's pretty tough to find anything apart from EB-Gamestop here in the Cities. Eh, it's only a problem for me once Autumn comes and it starts to get colder. I won't be able to be biking around town for much longer...and thanks to global warming, there won't be enough snow for snowboarding. Dagnabbit!

I'm glad that you have a website, since Winona is a little out of my way. For a time during college, it seemed everyone I met at the U of M came from Winona. Small world.
