Is there such thing as Video Game conventions anymore?

I'm from the Northern suburbs of Chicago and was wondering...There's flea markets, used game places, pawn shops, and of course NO VIDEO GAME CONVENTIONS! Do they exist anymore? Well I know they have sports cards, comics, and animal conventions...but never a video game convention!

You *MUST* be new around here. Uh, just scan through the Events and Gatherings forum - where you posted this observation - and you will find a virtual shit-ton of video game conventions. I mean....damn.

where about do live by chicago, I'm in westchester,IL
and basicly there isn't (or wasn't) any Video game conventions in IL after Mars Merchandise went out back in 90's. in 1997 there was Jagfest a convention/gathering for Atari Jaguar gamers (like my self). not until 2003 I decied to
start my show called Video game summit. (our last show was a month ago) unfortaly we suffered a loss in funds and attendence(well we been lossing money since the first show but not enough to say that we are won't be coming back
next yaer, which unforatly happened this year,plus the loss of attendence) So we are going be taking 2007 off to do some rething and come back fresh in 2008.
in the mean time Goat store is doing another show in Wi
in june 2007,I'm planning to be there(working the jagfest section) for more information just check through this forum

I'm from Lindenhurst, Illinois. About 10-15 minutes west of Gurnee and Waukegan. Westchester is like about a hour away from me I think. If they're is any video game conventionss let me know or drop a message? I'm trying to collect old school 8 bit Nintendo Games from when I was a kid.

HAHA!! Yeah, you must be new. It seems that there is a VG convention every month somewhere. Check out this thread to help you find one near you.
