OK...there's this ancient LCD game that I really want to play again (or download if it exists) but don't know the name...hence I need some help.

The concept is very similar to Sokoban, except instead of a guy pushing around boxes and having static walls, you control a dot in a maze. ALL the walls in the maze are pushable, provided that there is a space between them. For instance:

| | |<-- you can't push these walls because there is no space
| | | for a wall between them
| | o |<-- You (the dot)
| | |

| | <-- you CAN push these walls because there is a space
| |
| | o <--The result of pushing the wall. You (Mr. dot) can
| | now go either up, down, or back.

Anyways -- you can find a similar game to this here (http://www.gambitstudios.com/Products/GBFree/Freedom2001/lcdgame.zip). But it's only got one level so it's more of a taste of what the real game is like. I really want to know the name of this game! :)

(btw -- before any admin might be tempted take this post down due to the link being to a GB rom -- the rom is freeware :p)

My PC wouldn't let me download it. It seems the file contains a virus.

Don't know what the game is, but there is a similar game called Kwirk by Acclaim that I think you might like. It is like an 8-bit version of this dot game, along the lines of Adv of Lolo but with more block pushing. Get the rom for Game Boy or better yet, try and find the cart.

The rom works for me. I've taken a few screenshots of how it works.

I'm hosting the gbc file here (http://members.rogers.com/felixdd/lcdgame.gbc)

I've looked at kwirk -- looks good. I just wanna see if anyone else knows more about the game :).

Hmm, it's a Game and Watch? I would have to say that it sounds like Bomb Sweeper to me. It's on Game and Watch Gallery 4 for GBA, but you have to get a ton of points to unlock that game.

Bomb sweeper? Is that a maze puzzle game cuz that's all this one is...will look up (oily fingers can't type much)

Edit:

YES! That's it! I google'd up "bombsweeper" and the hits are dead on. In fact I even found a home-brewn version of it -- a clone of the G&W game, but runs on NES emulators. SWEET! Thanks!

Yeah, that's definitely one of the best Game and Watch games. Most of the line segment display games turned out extremely well. Just take a look at Super Mario Bros, Bomb Sweeper, and Climber. The display layouts allowed for a tremendous degree of versatility.

There's a homebrewn NES version of the game that's pretty good as well.
