What in the world is a perp walk pic?
Wikipedia is your bestest digital pal that's fun to be with (Wikilinky) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perp_walk).
The wiki entry makes it sound like the perp walk is solely an American practice but interestingly the only people I've ever heard use the term are Canadians: Omnedon and Neil Peart from Rush (Lyrics from "Test For Echo") (http://www.lyricsfreak.com/r/rush/test+for+echo_20119950.html).
Let's just go back to topic: Omnedon/OSG is either the pope, a wicked bass player or an invaluable asset to the North American retrogaming community.

You don't happen to have this brother Gabe, do you? He tore through here recently...eh, recently, compared to some of the systems mentioned in that thread! :D
Awesome article!

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words. To remove all doubt, I am indeed not the Pope, or Flea, or a Gnome, but the hunched over heavy set guy in the pic in the lower corner. :D
Some have asked how I got the story. Pure luck is how. My OSG Van, mentioned in the article, caught the attention of the reporter as I drove by. He checked out the site, liked what he saw, called me, and asked if I had time to talk to him. The truthful answer to that question would have been , 'No, I'm too busy" . However, since I'm not an idiot (most of the time :) ) I made time for this.
As it turns out, this reporter is a senior one who has some editor duties at the paper, so his stories tend to get higher profile (more luck for me). Hence the unbelievably lucky front page.
About the pic, it is indeed a staged pic. I do not fix systems with a stack of NES's and games next to me on the workbench. :) The photog wanted something iconic in the pic, to make it clear I wasn't working on an air conditioner or something. I could have been holding the tip of my iron in my mouth for that pic, if I wanted to. :D
It is very heartwarming to read the words of congratulation and encouragement from all of you. It means even more coming from my peers.
But, now I'm yesterday's news, lining birdcages all over Edmonton. ;)
Thanks all!
Steve

Sweet article, I liked the beginning but thought it was funny they said "Got a wonky disc grip in your hot-pink Sakura Wars Taisen Dreamcast?" Sakura wars wars? I guess that works.

360+ factory assembly errors = severe heat issues causing numerous problems due to stress fractures when they heat up and cool down (power on and off).
It's a serious problem causing many premature 360 mainboard deaths.
I can fix it, but it's still damned expensive (approaches replacement price). We are working on a cheaper fix, but still need to nail down stability concerns.
