Here's hoping the Platinum Hits packaging looks as good as it did on the Xbox. Imo, they did a much better job than Sony or Nintendo.

Good luck with that one. Those games NEVER drop. At least until a follow-up comes out. The first two Fight Nights were $50 for over a year until the next one was released. Pissed me off to because I was waiting for those to drop for ages too.

The Platnium Hits Cases look like trash for the Xbox 360. We were very disapointed in the quality at work, though we did get some good laughs at how trashy it looks. It looks like a Hollywood Video case or something of the sort. Just terrible.

The real 360 "platinum hits" are the Circuit City monthly $16.96 game clearances. Even most mediocre 360 games are worth picking up for $17 IMO.

Really? for the past 2 weeks, Wal-Mart has been selling Dead Rising for $29.99. I picked up the original release for that price about a week ago.

Most people find it enjoyable. It good mindless fun if you like that stuff. Some of the features are pretty cool. Taking pictures of your buddy loping off a zombie head is fun to me. Loping the heads off yourself is even better. :)

Just saw this on XBL, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (regular edition I am assuming) and Call of Duty 3 are both now Platinum Hits.

Yeah, it took my original 360 to "new heights" too. If by "new heights" you mean unable to load certain sequences making the game unplayable.

Still was a great game once I got a new 360 and could actually go from section to section without the game locking up.

That's actually quite funny.

I only went through one Xbox 360, so I can't really complain because I heard reports of people who have gone through three or more consoles due to the dreaded "rings of death."

I see Oblivion finally dropped as well. Although if I were going to pick it up now, I'd get the GOTY edition, which includes Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles in one package for $60.

It took so long because CoD4 wasn't close to release. Now since CoD4 is just a little over a month off, you get the drop. My big beef with CoD3 is that the campaign mode is very broken in parts. The game lets you jump.... too bad jumping doesn't help you do anything in the game because even small walls, stairways ect are completely un-jumpable. Hit detection is off and on the hardest difficulty there are points in the game that are nigh-on unpassable due to bullets going through things they shouldn't and the fact that they can mow you down from a distance that isn't close to realistic. Hell there was one point that I was actually trapped at because their gun emplacements were so 'good' that it took me close to 150 play throughs to even flank the hill. Online seems alright from what i've played.

I saw the PH packaging for F.E.A.R. yesterday.

yeah exactly, halo didnt go PH till quite a bit after halo 2 came out... so if GoW 2 comes out, maybe 6 months after we'd see the drop. i believe that anyway. but look at nintendo, system selling games take foreeevvveerrr to fall in price.

I notice Xbox360 Platinum Hits gets a make over. I don't mind it as much. On the plus side new PH is getting extra content. The Mass Effect has added all the DLC content & added a bonus CD soundtrack.
