Thanks to everyone who PM'd but I've found a replacement unit.

I have the internals of a Genesis 2 with a US/JPN region switch installed if you'd like. You'll have to drill a hole for the switch and widen your cartridge slot to accept Japanese Mega Drive games. It does have the original shell but it's painted an awful shade of white with crappy paint. (long story) LOL I fully understand if you're not interested, but if you are send me a PM and we'll work something out.
Thanks dude, but I'm looking for just the conventional console. I'd like to hear the story of why your case was painted that awful shade of white, though. :D
