Couldn't figure out a better way to title this thread.

What I am looking or C64/C128 Games online that are in basic that I could just input into my C128 and save onto disk so I can play them.

I did that a little bit with my Vic-20 back in the day. I figured you should be able to do that same with a C128.

Would I need a compiler program?

At any rate are there any sites that have this kind of stuff?

Hmm... well... you might want to search the web for scans of magazines like "Compute!'s Gazette", "Run", and "Ahoy!", as they usually had type-in programs near the back, many of these programs were games. I couldn't find any collections worth linking to I'm afraid.

Most of the stuff you'll find is in BASIC, but some is in machine language. Any book/magazine that used ML would always give you the BASIC listing for a program used to type in the ML programs (ie, Compute's MLX program). Many of the magazines also had their own proofreader programs that would help you catch errors as you typed in the programs (again, they provided the BASIC listing for these in each issue too). These proofreaders were not necessary, but it made typing in programs MUCH MUCH easier!

However, it should be pointed out that there are far better ways of getting data onto your disks these days. Typing in programs is extremely tedious and time consuming, and any worthwhile program is usually pretty long. Also, basically anything that was ever listed in a magazine or book was also available on disk, so you can find the .d64 images around the net.
