I know everyone is tripping out about the PS3 having huge problems and what not. I know I am probably going to start an argument with this ,but think about a majority of the heavy hitters in the video game industries past. The NES came under huge scrutiny when it was released but think about it now people respect that system. Even when innovative games come out people tend to shun them just for the fact they are not sure about it. I know I may be completely wrong but we should give the PS3 a chance even if it is overheating, costs a ridiculous amount of money and has yet to show any really good games. OH well here comes the arguments.

Here is some goods (limited to 4 points each):

PS3

- It is the most high definition ready console
- built in blu-ray player
- Linux is built in, possibly allowing it to be used as a computer
- Exclusive Final Fantasy and Metal Gear games

Wii

- Innovative new controller
- Nintendo first party games. Need I say more?
- Backlog of tons of classic systems available for download
- Huge launch lineup of over 20 games

Xbox 360

- by far the best online gaming experience
- the best feeling controller ever made
- Upcoming games like Blue Dragon gives this system more depth than the original Xbox
- HD movie player is optional, bringing down the price of the system

Sony are willing to pay for innovative games to be developed. Look at PS2 - Ico, Shadow of colossus, guitar hero, eyetoy, katamari damacy and so much more. I dont see why this trend cant continue with PS3, Afrika and Lair look very interesting so far. One of the biggest complaints of PS3 is the price, but thats a simple thing for sony to change, as has been shown with the Japanese price.

Xbox 360 while nice enough, still needs a big title to push it along, the same as Halo kickstarted the original xbox, while that maybe halo3, i think it will take an entirely new title to take the 360 to the next level.

The Wii is totally reliant on the new controller, if people dont take to it, then theres not a lot for them to fall back on, i.e not enough power to pump out impressive visuals or games with massive environments or amounts of characters etc. Nintendo need to release some more new big titles, not just another version of zelda, mario kart or whatever, relying on the same old characters alone isnt good enough. Hopefully the controller will work really well, and that will attract what the Wii Really needs - quality third party developers with exclusive games.

I'm still impressed with the visuals you get on the current-gen consoles, and the Wii certainly won't have worse effects. It might have less power than the PS3/Xbox360, but it's not like it can only display some 3 colors at the some time while going beep-beep....

Not really for the ps 3. Not exactly for the wii either. I already own a genesis system and a tg-16. Nintendo and sony took a page out of what sega did for downloading games from the tg-16 and the genesis for their dreamcast system in Japan. I am looking at what system has the games I want and the price of the system itself, not on downloading games first. Online is a bonus to me for downloading games. That is what I went by for picking a game system for this generation.

I do like the wii's virtual game console more for downloading games then the ps 3. You got more systems for games to download from. I may use the virtual game console for some tg-16 games that will be able to download for games for the tg-16 that takes a arm and leg to buy on price or cd games since I don't have a duo or a Turbo cd to play games like the y's series if you are able to download them. I got not plans to spending a lot of money for a hucard like Bonk 3.

I am not after the genesis games for downloading. I got over 100 genesis games already. There only is a few games I still want like Dragon's fury.

I am planning to get a wii for playing wii games like wii sports and Metal Slug Anthology.

I only put down the positives that I consider for each system, not exactly for what system I am planning to purchase.
