Does anyone know if Microsoft stopped manufacturing the original Xbox system ?

I wanted to get one, but seem unable to find it anywhere. I have tried EB Games, Gamestop, Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City etc... And it doesn't even show up on their websites anymore. They only have the games. Can anyone help me out ?

Thanks,

Flavio :)

I could be a dick and link older threads but I'm not going to. If you can find one it will be packed with Forza, but yes they stopped making the original xbox last spring which would explain why you can't find one in any of the stores you mentioned.

Start looking around online for one, it's your best chance.

Good luck.

I believe 8/05 is the last manufacture date of the xbox.

Very nice of you not to be a dick, when you could have......

Kind of like the best buy clerk who told the customer " Gee, I'd really love to tell you to go f**k yourself, but I can't, because I'm working right now."

Give the guy a break, he's got 6 posts.

I have to admit, I find the search engine frustrating on this site. It seems hard to narrow stuff down. I'm sure millions of others will tell me how great it is... But that's my experience. I have no problem with other game sites search function..Atariage and the like.

No I was making the point that I hate the "use the search function type of post" and instead state what info I had. :)

I saw a couple xbox's at my local target today, kinda surprised me since they didn't have any a week ago. I'm guessing they are moving around old stock.

Sorry if I misunderstood. I just get tired of all the morons who have to post links. and belittle someone for asking a question.
What are people trying to accomplish by it anyway? Is it to save bandwidth, or just to flex their search engine muscles(or lack thereof)? If it's to save bandwidth or storage for Joe, then it's the stupidest thing I've ever seen. By the time the morons are done linking, badgering and belittling, they've used more space than the friggin answer would have taken!!

They've got stacks of the Forza xboxes at most Zellers stores I've seen, but that's in Canada...not sure if that helps you or not.

They're still around, Just check stores that don't move stock as much. I Know of a KMart that has 2 left (In the case, i don't know if they have more in the back) Also check stores that buy old stock.

Funny, I just recently noticed that their were none around at wallyworld and Sears. Too bad too, I still play my original box even though I have a 360.

I don't have a system disk to play any original x-box games and I'm not on line with it to download one.
(Anyone wanna lend me one?)

Sorry if I threadjacked.

I'm pretty sure you can just DL it and burn it to a disk from www.xbox.com

I'm not sure where it is on the site, but I'm sure it won't be too hard to find.

There you go. Free to download, supplied by MS.

You still need a harddrive though.

If you can't burn it, they will send you a "free" disk, for a "nominal" S&H fee. I'm sure "nominal" to MS is probably around five or ten bucks... Enough to actually make a "nominal" profit. LOL

Actually, they only charge $1.95 to cover the shipping for the disc.

Cool I just ordered one. (2.09 total) I would of burned one myself, but if my system shits the bed I don't want to take a chance on them saying it's something I did. :)

Thanx guys
