I'm guessing the Xbox is behaving how it's "supposed" to, but it's still dumb. I am trying to copy a saved game of Ninja Gaiden to a practiacally empty memory card. It won't let me. I am guessing that there is some sort of stupid lock on the saves for this game for some reason. I just wanted to be sure.

Ninja Gaiden is one of the few games that does infact lock the save to the console (i think all team ninja games to).

The save is actually locked to the serial number on the motherboard, if you did manage to transfer the file, it wouldn't work. The only thing you can do is mod the xbox you're trying to copy the save to and use a trainer to force the game to load the save.

I hate that. It should be my choice if I want to play my game on a different console.

o_O yeah, like what happens if (when) your Xbox craps out and you need to get a new one? Why should the developer care which machine you're playing on? I shouldn't have to bring my Xbox to a friend's house to play a game when he has an Xbox too. :eek 2:
Who owns your data, nowadays... :hmm:

If it's any consolation the 360 no longer allows this pratice. Everything gets tied to your gamertag instead of your console...
