Any idea where I can get my hands on a Digital Press "Classic" Guide? Is it expected that there will be another print run any time soon?

Nope, because there's going to be a new one around christmas time.

That's good too I suppose. I'll just buy it and give it to the wife, and she can give it back to me for a Christmas present!
Thanks for the info!

:eek 2: Not at the rate that I've seen work being done on it. I'm supposed to be on the staff, but have not received certain files and there appears to be no activity in over a month (at least no in my areas).
Unless it's being done in secret (and I mean secret, not just the hidden area), then I don't see it being done by xmas 2006.

Is there a new version of the "Advanced Guide" coming out along with the "Classic Guide"?
Or would it be ok to purchase one now?

I'd recommend picking up the Advance Guide now, the next release won't be until after the new Classic Guide is published. :)

I placed my order this morning for the Advance Guide. Should make for some great bathroom reading!

They are shipped Media Mail I think so i'd guess it'll be another week or two considering how long stuff has been seeming to take at the border lately.

Doh!
Guess the have to inspect for bombs and what not!
Watch out for that giant book, it could be a bomb!
Can someone point out where to buy these things? The only things I see in the shop are t-shirts and mouse pads.

It's under "Digital Press Online": "Collector's Guide".

For $25 and free shipping in the US it's a real deal for those that need stats at hand. Stash it in your car and when in doubt at a store, dash to the car and discover its rarity and if there's a bargin to be made. Of course it's not the bible of gaming but it's pretty damn good.
I still need one. :( I'm sure I'll purchase come the new prints with both classic and advanced guides.

Is there a rough release date of the revised classic guide? I have the advanced but not the classic, so I was wondering if I should buy the classic now or wait for a revised edition.

Is there any update on the new classic guide? Also, is it worth me waiting for a new version of the advance guide?

The new Advanced Guide won't hit till sometime well after the launch of the new Classic guide (think around a year after the Classic launch). There hasn't been any big brainstorming on a new Advanced guide at all that i've seen. However the online list is pretty up to date (in general) with what the advanced guide covers (and then some) so just use that for your day to day needs. The prices in the book are going to be off (it came out in 04) but everything 'list' wise in there except the last 3 PS games should be spot on so if you are looking for one for that, then pick one up.

I'm wondering if a 3rd guide will ever come out...perhaps one featuring the GameCube, Xbox and PS2? I guess they could include the GBA in there, too...I don't know what other games might be included but I guess you don't want to cover a system until it's life is over. Perhaps there aren't enough systems to do to warrant yet another guide?

What exactly ARE the three last PS titles missing from the Advance Guide?

NFL Gameday 2005 (Aug 04), Madden 2005(Sept 04), FIFA 2005 (Oct 04) In that order.
They arn't in the print guide, but they are in the online guide.

Well considering that PS2 games are still coming out in mass quantities I'm guessing its going to be awhile.
