A carillon is basically a giant bell tower with many bells and a piano style keyboard to play it.

So basically, one can sit in the tower by himself and play music that anyone in a wide radius can hear. My friend has the opportunity to play this instrument, and he wanted to play a video game theme on it. I thought that Tetris would be good.
What do you guys think?

Depends what Tetris song you mean. The early Tetrises had music by famous Russian composers, like Tchaikovsky and I think, Stravinsky.

Whatever he plays, record it. I think he should play something from NES Ninja Gaiden, heh heh.

I was thinking Korobeiniki, GB Teris. It wouldn't be too hard to play on the setup. The keys are big and hard to push, so you can't really play more than two keys at once. There are foot pedals for some bells, but dont expect people to play too many notes with their feet.

If I remember correctly, you can't play songs that have a very fast tempos with a carillon. But, NES games had 5 sound channels. Using two hand and two feet and a fair amount of practice, it would be really cool to see?

Afraid to use too much of the foot bells? For shame! That's like saying you don't like to use your pinky finger on the fretboard of a guitar...I say they are there, so use em for full effect. :D
