I am looking for a list of good 3 and 4 player beat em up arcade games. Does anyone have a list or know a good place to search?

If you're talking arcade games, then there's a few I know of.

Final Fight is 1-3 players, and it's the best of the series IMO.

Crime Fighters is 1-4 players. The game is LONG and at times incredibly difficult and cheap.

Vendetta is 1-4 players as well. It's a fairly good game (I wrote a review for it on this very site) and quite comical too.

Undercover Cops is 1-3 players. This game is by Irem so the graphics and game gameplay are great! There's multiple endings too.

The Simpsons is 1-4 players. A Konami classic.

Ditto the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as well as Turtles in Time.

Bucky O'Hare is 1-4 players. This game is really good.

Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder is 1-4 players. I absolutely love the game.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I have an arcade stand up of revenge of death adder, and it is only 2 player. were there other versions made?

Yeah, Revenge of Death Adder came in 2P and 4P cabinets. The Putt-Putt I religiously attended way back when had the 4P cabinet.

X-men
Captain America & The Avengers
Both of the D&D games
NBA Jam

All I can think of off the top of my head. You can also go the klov.com and search for 4P cabinets.

Peace Keepers (SNES) had a 4 player vs. mode, but sadly there was no 4P mode in the regular scrolling game.

Gotdamn, I loved Undercover Cops! One of my all time favorite beu's!

Some other favorites of mine are (click the links below for more info!):

Arabian Fight (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=A&game_id=6900)
Spider-Man the Videogame (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=S&game_id=9717)

I had a lot of fun with both games as a young teen.

Some Taito ones include...

The Ninja Kids- 1-4 players. Imagine puppets (that are also Ninjas) fighting off loads of oddballs like middle eastern terrorists, satanists that look like the KKK, and zombies. Not making this up. It's on Taito Legends 1 for the Xbox/PS2/PC, but go for the Xbox version- plugging in 4 controllers unlocks the 4-player version of the game (it's usually the standard 2-player one)

Growl/Runark- 1-4 players again. This time, it's a ranger corps fighting off evil animal poachers. It's not a great game, but the sheer amount of enemies on screen is pretty overwhelming. You also get to blow people up into bloody chunks with a rocket launcher, which is always fun. This one's on Taito Legends 2

Arabian Magic- 1-4 players, this one's got an oriental theme going on, as well as summoning magic powers and a pretty amusing magic carpet ride! Another one on Taito Legends 2.

The best of these is easily Ninja Kids, because it's just so messed up. You really have to see it to believe it. Also comes complete with some great Engrish

"Wretch! Ninja Kids!"
"Do you feel our power."

"Come on, NINJA KIDS! Here is a graveyard of you!"

Captain Commando is quality.

Although I don't beleive that a 3player Final Fight exists.

There is no 3 player Final Fight.

The ultimate in multi-player beat 'em up was the dual screen, 6 player Konami X-Men. That one was the end all be all.

the original pcb is interesting.. for 4 players the wiring goes to two machines rarther than one, but the game runs off a single pcb! pretty nifty and simple way of network link!!

Power Stone/b] (Dreamcast, PSP Soon! :))
(Also [b]Power Stone 2 (Dreamcast))

Power Stone is a fully 3D arena fighting game series made by Capcom. Power Stone was initially released on the Sega NAOMI hardware ([1]) and later ported to the Dreamcast. Capcom announced in February 2006 that it will port the entire series to the PSP with a few enhancements which shall be released October 2006. The original Power Stone will include the four new characters introduced in Power Stone 2 for example. It has been said on IGN that Power Stone and Power Stone 2 will be on the PSP.

The original Power Stone featured 10 characters:

* Fokker (Falcon)
* Rouge
* WangTang
* Ryoma
* Ayame
* GunRock
* Jack
* Galuda
* Kraken (Must be unlocked)
* Valgas (Must be unlocked)

Final Valgas is also a playable character after unlocking him.

Play involves selecting a character and then proceeding to battle the other characters, one at a time, in various locales. The fighting was truly three dimensional and included the ability to able to pick up and fight with things like tables, chairs, rocks, bombs and other objects. During battle, "Power Stones", resembling gems of different colours, would appear in the arena. If a character collected three Power Stones, they would transform into a more powerful version of themselves. They would then be able to use one of two special attacks. One was generally a massive power attack and the other was a grab or throw type move. The powered-up mode would last for only a short time, during which you could execute the special attack or launch some form of projectile. Each match continues until the life bar of one of the two characters fighting is depleted.

And, if you want to go with 3 player, Battle Toads. And yes, it is generally the same idea as the NES and all other versions only it's a completely different game and it's rather... violent. In an excellently fun way.

Yes! Power Stone! Don't forget Dynamite Cop either, but I think it was 2-player. Can't remember.

You can't go wrong with these games:

All of these are 4-players and are on the N64. These games are REALLY fun to play with your friends at a party or something.

-Goldeneye 007
-Perfect Dark
-Mario Kart 64
-Super Smash Bros.
-WWF No Mercy (if you're into pro-wrestling)
-NBA Hangtime (almost exactly like NBA Jam)
-Mario Party (any of them): Playing with 4 human players eliminates having to deal with the very cheap computer players, which in turn makes the game more fun.
-Mario Golf, Mario Tennis

-And a whole bunch of other N64 games, but those are the ones that I enjoy the most.

Since I can't edit: (sorry for the double post)

Didn't mean to go overboard on posting all of the non beat-em ups, but Smash Bros. definitely fits the game you are looking for.

Isn't Powerstone 1 only 2 player? I'm pretty sure 2 was the first 4 player one. At least on Dreamcast, I'm not sure about Naomi.

Also, is metamorphic force a 4 player game? I tried it on mame recently and thought it was really cool. I don't remember how many players it can have though. If it has 4 players, then it would be a must for your cab.

What is the nme of that one wrestling game that lets you play 4-player mode? I can't remember the name but I always used to get frustrated/have a blast playing it.

There were lots but I would bet $5 you're thinking of the classic Capcom wrestling brawler SATURDAY NIGHT SLAM MASTERS... which received a stellar SNES port in 94.

Then again I could be wrong and it could be, say, WWF WrestleFest :)

Simpsons Arcade and TMNT 2 The Arcade were my all time favorites by far

I liked that Superman Arcade Game released in the mid 90's but I could never figure out what home system it eventually came out for
