There's already a nice thread about US DS games, but I'm curious about DS games that won't be available here in the States...

For instance, the UK seems to have a James Pond game, 42 All-Time Classics, and Nintendogs: Dalmations, that haven't made it to the US, at least not yet. I see other games that appear to just have name changes between the UK and US, or the UK and Japan (UK's Beetle King is Japan's Mushi King, right?), but the UK Nintendo site doesn't seem to be complete (I found Beetle King on Play.com), so I can't really begin to do a good job of trying to build up correspondences (I'd check to see what the Online Rarity Guide has for non-US titles, but it seems to be down at the moment).

So, does anyone have a list of games unique to the European market? Or Japan (though that's probably a much bigger ball of wax)?

Europe got a rubbish game called Tootuf Mission Nadia. How do I know this? Because I bought it.

Was Devilish released outside of Europe? That is the only other one I can think of...

You mean in the West? It came out in Japan naturally cos I have that version in my collection. Don't think it made the US.

here's the list:

james pond: codename robocod
meine tierpension
tootuff: mission nadia

these are the games the are europe exclusive. not many. there are a few others that have been released already in europe and are currently unavailable elsewhere, but a tentative release is planned for other regions, so i did not list them. some might make release in other areas, some may not. hard to say for sure. i also did not include games that have not been released in europe yet. the list will grow by a few more games by the end of year.

and yes, the list of japan exclusive games is much larger, but japan does not get many of the licensed games that are released in US and europe... so that helps even things out a bit.

Games that is / will be released in Europe and is also out in Japan but has no US release yet:

GuruGuru Nagetto.
English Training (only in non-english countries)
Mawashite Koron (EU name: Labyrinth)
Simple DS Series Vol. 2: The Billiards (EU name: Billiard Action)

(UK's Beetle King is Japan's Mushi King, right?)No it's Simple DS Series Vol. 3: The Mushitori

I believe that The Settlers is another game that hasn't been confirmed for release outside of Europe. Can't wait for this one :)

Asterix & Obelix XXL 2: Mission Wifix is not the only game coming out in europe soon that doesn't have plans for any other region release... i'll find the list when i get home from work, but off the top of my head... Crazy Frog Racer and New Zealand Story Revolution.

The Settlers is supposedly coming out in the US in november.

and Bubble Bobble Revolution is now available damn near everywhere.

I just saw a new game (to me) here in the US: "Pet Vet: Paws & Claws" -- is that the same as Meine Tierpension, or Meine Tierarztpraxis (or whatever)? Seems like one less Euro exclusive, anyway...

A good German exclusive is always Die Biene Maja

A good Japanese game that was supposed to come out here but apparently was cancelled, is Daigasso Band Brothers (aka Jam with the Band).

It used to be listed on Nintendo.com but no longer is, which is not good news.

If you like music games and don't mind some j-pop along the way, get it. There's also an expansion pack in the form of a GBA cart that you must use with the original DS game.

It's not coming out anywhere else. I've heard (without confirmation) that the reason for this is they've lost (yes, LOST) all the development and source files for the game and can't reverse engineer it.

I think you might have misunderstood me... I'm wondering if the US game is the same as one of those. Probably not the Afrika one, which is new to me. My apologies if I'm not understanding you.

But is this unique from the three German ones?

Hmm, for that matter, what French exclusives are there?

Heh, I've made an eBay search for that, though I probably won't end up with one, due to costs & shipping.

Can't, or can't be bothered to do so?

I mean, romhackers without any sort of technical documents regarding the games themselves have been doing this for YEARS. It's possible.

I did understand you indeed Russ, I just didn't know the answer, as I never played the US one either.

Here's a French comic character who always gets a console release in France, search for Titeuf:

Okay, cool. When you said "the games are different", it wasn't clear if you just meant the German ones (apparently) or those and the US.

Dang... Next I'll find out that there are Spanish & Dutch exclusives too...

I think this game, "Dead 'n Furious" may be a Europe exclusive. I've never seen it before, but it's definitely out, and GameFAQs only has a European release listed for it.

Well, I've read consumer reviews of the game already, so they had to have played something, unless they got a leaked copy and put it on a flash cart or something.
