Doesn't Paypal offer some sort of extra protection for a fee or something? :/

I don't have any experience with them, but you may want to look into an escrow service. I'm sure eBay has a list of some recommended ones.

Credit card is the only safe way and that depends on your cards policy. I was able to get $1500 + back from the CC company.

its the sellers choice to make this appear. I would ask him if he could add this feature.

This one is an easy fix.

Use a credit card when you pay. If you have aproblem skip paypal and go right to the credit card company. Don't pay with paypal funds or from your bank account.

I wouldn't trust paypal at all. Too much red tape and hidden words. I am 0-5 in receiving anything but a bullcrap response. Here is a classic disscussing.

Dear sir
(we are vigously trying to retrive your funds)

Please tell me what you are doing?

(Sorry policy prohibits discussing our actions)

In reality they arent doing jack.

Paypal is the only company I know where the company wont give you information about the active status of your own account.

You have only yourself to blame if you go big with paypal and lose out.
