I'm only posting this cause everybody got on my case for calling the Wii a Cube 1.5. Now that your God is agreeing with me, what say you?

LOL

Also, here is a pic of Call of Duty 3 for the Nintendo Wii to chew on:

LET THE FLAMING BEGIN

Disclaimer: I just did this post because I thought it would be really funny to see how all the Tendo fanboys on DP would react to it. This isn't shocking to me at all, cause I already knew the Wii was going to be way underpowered, so I'm not going to be at all shocked by the lackluster graphics, and I'm still going to very much enjoy my new Wii on November 19th despite the fact that it's a redesigned GC with a new controller :D

Well, when I place that next to screens of Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess, I have to think that Ubisoft isn't exactly pushing the Wii to it's potential...

Link is broken.

Flamebaiting is childish, by the way.

One, that's a BETA version, meaning that the game is unfinished. You know. Like all those other prototypes at the moment. Just because they look like something out of Half-Life doesn't mean they won't look good in the future.

Two, so what? Yes, it's a Gamecube on steroids. Again, so what? What matters is the games, if you can't accept that then go away.

Or it's a poor translation... I direct you to think from IGN in August...

I think you'll notice it's similar bar an important word or two.

But who cares... to me, if the games are fun and warrant playing, that's what I'll get one more. The graphics come second.

Looks like 1up are having problems with their server, link doesnt work. Or did u write the correct url?

Anyway, this is just 1 guy saying that its basicly a GC. What defines "basicly" in this case? Is it worse, better or just the same? Are the HW specs for Wii known yet btw? Nintendo lists (http://wii.nintendo.com/hardware.html) its very poorly, no detailed info :\

Its no suprise that Wii arent powerful like 360 and PS3. The price on the machine speaks for itself. But as i've said before, gameplay > gfx. But.. we'll see how much better Wii is compared to GC, gfx wise that is.

here we go again... x_x

Honestly Anthony, most of the time I feel bad when everybody threadjacks just to bash your posts, but this time I won't blame them.

Flambaiting is plain stupid, pointless and lowers the quality of this site.

Gamers, in particular one-eyed Nintendo supporters, have to accept that the Wii won't be as powerful as the two big consoles on the market. Nintendo prepared the case of graphics one class below its competitors for almost two years now (that means the technical aspect of graphics); and still some gamers like to brush over it.

The graphics of the Wii will very, very soon look outdated compared to the 360 and PS3. Even slightly better graphics than in the two Metroids will suffer from comparisons. I experienced it myself when I played GT4 on my HDTV (better looking in 1080i for sure than just with my component cables on a standard TV) after getting used to Project Gotham Racing 3 and Ridge Racer 6.

I was amazed how fast we get used to better graphics of a new console generation although it is not the first time I experience it. It is psychological. You remember the great graphics of a new console, and make it in hindsight better than it was -- until you have literally to face graphical reality based on a new common ground...and noone will deny that the draw distance and less jaggies affect gameplay in many ways for a lot of genres in particular for racers.

You won't get graphical feasts out of the Wii, and this will affect gameplay and reduce memorable gamer experiences; on the other hand, gameplay isn't a slave of technical abilities as we know from the everlasting joy playing the classics. The innovative part of the Wii controller is crucial to gameplay and crucial about the success of Ns marketing strategy.

Nintendo is after a broader audience which includes casual gamers and non-gamers....easy access, simpler games, graphics and processing ablilities are secondary. To my big surprise, N exercised something similar with success -- the DS whose dual screen I regarded as a gimmick. The sales figures prove me and critics terribly wrong.

It might be that the handheld market is more suited for Ns strategy than the console market. It might be that the Wii with its different gameplay mechanics will actually be an attractive alternative to the two big consoles out there -- even for multiplatform games paling in direct comparison graphically with the 360 and PS3 and thus assuring Ns survival in the console market.

One thing is for sure; graphically the Wii will be second class. If it can make up for it with a cheaper price and different gameplay and with which strata of consumers are the big uncertainties. I suspect the hurdles for this strategy are much higher in the traditional console market than in the handheld market.

Why did you bother writing that when you could have just posted a quick link to any of the other 1,000,000 times you've pointed this out. We know what it is, and we like it anyway, so get a new act. At least now, people other than me can notice what a troll you are.

I can just picture Anthony approaching the plate, a confident smirk smeared across his face like chocolate across a fat kid's ill-fitting tshirt, ready to knock it out of the park and get everyone all riled up, only to swing so hard he falls down, leaving the ball sitting on the tee, right where it was the whole time.

Seriously, this is news? The thing with the Wii is, for once when Nintendo claimed that they weren't directly competing with their supposed 'competition,' they are absolutely and irrefutably correct. The Wii offers a more interactive gaming experience than the 360 or PS3 do, and that is its draw, not the graphics it is capable of producing or what kind of surround sound it offers. If you want that stuff, that's what a 360 is for. I own a 360 and will certainly pick up a Wii at some point in the near future, but I won't own them to compare games that are cross-platform. The 360 will be for more cinematic and 'traditional' games, and the Wii will be for what is has been intended for the whole time: 'experience' games, games where you interact.

I'm with Slip, I usually agree that the flack Anthony gets is often unwarranted, but this time that certainly can't be said.

Anthony1, stop now. This is just to stir the shit, and is unacceptable. Please refrain from feeding the trolls.
