OK. I'm in this LOVELY queue. I can't believe after this long there is still THIS MUCH of a queue just to login to a new server.
But anyways.
3:15pm - I signon and I'm 250th in line.
5:20pm - I'm 220th in line.
I'm watching it, and I'm moving the WRONG WAY in the queue? WTF is up with this? Last night, I was 17th in the queue, and then suddenly I'm 50th again. Why does my queue keep counting UP and down instead of just down? How are people getting in in front of me?
Currently, I'm on a 10 day free trial download. Is that the reason? Wouldn't they try to PLEASE the people on the free trial in hopes that they buy the game?

Oh. I would post this on the WOW forums, but apparently, I can't. Says "no character found" I'm assuming this is also because of the free trial thingy.

Does it let you choose the server you want to play on?
If so, you probably picked one of the more overpopulated servers like Aerie Peak or Thrall.
But do yourself a favor and buy this game...
it rocks.

You probably picked an overpopulated server. And i can't recommend this game i got hooked for almost 1 year and 6 months and haven't played any other games in that time. It's like cocaine, Hard to stop using it and when you're finally cured you want to taste it again @_@
It is the trial. You get bumped when someone with a retail copy enters the queue. If there's any queue, you're stuck in it until it goes away completely. Try a low pop server or try at another time of day.

It was the trial, I'm in undermine, which is a fairly new server. After I bought the game, 100 people in front of me went away in about 1-2 minutes.
NOT a good way to attract new players.

Yeah. A lot of those MMO's are addictive and I have friends that are lost in them. I use to be all over a few other online games like Diablo 2 that would rob me of more time than I wanted to spend gaming. It also takes you away from playing other games because time slips so fast you don't realise it and you can't sqeeze an episode of a TV show in either.

Yeah exactly, that's the reason i won't touch games without an ending for a while. :P

Well, Sunday night I felt like playing some Diablo 2, logged on around midnight and watched some TV but drug my ass back to the screen and didn't log off until 6:15 AM when I crashed into bed. I've done far longer runs, one time I played 14hrs straight of Starcraft on a Saturday back in high school due to nasty weather. You wonder where the day went.

On another similiar note, if anyone is making a cold start in WoW, or looking too, I'd invite them to come play with our guild on Detheroc.
We're Horde (the only way to roll). It's a medium population PvP server and I've never had a queue at any time.
Anyway, we've got a small guild going and we're doing some of the end game right now, but we've got players of all levels.
If you're interested, hit me up with a PM or visit our forums at http://www.misk-u.org.

I'm in undermine, "new" server.
Honestly, it's a greta game, like most MMORPG, but I found EQ2 to be MUCH more refined considering WOW has been out for this long....
So far I've been good at limiting my playtime to just during chloe's naps (10 month old daughter) and after 8:00pm (all 3 kids are basically in bed)
I didn't want to start another MMORPG, but I've gotten VERY bored with console gaming lately, even with a backlog of around 20 GREAT games (including RE4 for the GC still!)

Then be sure to stay away from Phantasy Star Universe LOL
Yeah I admit Im addicted to WoW still. I always been a fan of the series, but EQ2 is praised by far.
Im still on Duskwood server, I never get any problems, since Ive been a member since April 06'

I'm so glad I am not in a high-end raiding guild.....
I feel sooo bad for the people who are like
"ZOMG 1337 tier 3 Dreadnaught"
And then there gear is obsolete in the Xpac.

I know the feeling, I'm tired of dealing with bossy dorks who tell you where to go, how to do your job, etc. (It's like hearing 5 Eric Cartmans at one time pretty much)

So true.
That damn South Park episode got me playing again after a one year hiatus. It took me several hours to figure out what I was doing when I left off a year-or-so prior.

Does anyone have any advice for someone like myself, who can't quite see the attraction of games like these? Given the huge amount of buzz, I feel like I am missing out. I saw World of Warcraft for £9.99 at the weekend, so it might be worth a punt for a month.
