Triple post, buddy, but anyway..

Super mario 64 is an all time classic, Zelda OoT can get frustrating although it's good, And i haven't played majora's mask.

Wave Race is Just another racing game to me.

I personally recommend:

Mischief Makers
Magical Tetris
Mario Party
Mario Kart 64

But if you want to ask the opinion of a N64 addict and get a good verdict, send a PM to user T-Bone! ;)

Mario 64 and Zelda OOT are essential.

You can add Starfox 64 and Goldeneye to the "best of" list IMHO, but I'm not sure how well they've held up over the years. Pokémon Puzzle League is a pretty good puzzle game and I recommend it. You may also want to check out Beetle Adventure Racing.

F-Zero GX is a very good game that I would suggest picking up. It has been things to unlock and do. Plus you can't beat the pure rush because of the speed and dangerous courses of the game. One of my personal favorite N64 titles.

Pokemon Puzzle Challenge is really good. If you have played Tetris Attack (SNES) or Dr.Mario/Puzzle League (GBA) you what to expect. But not it's got a Pokemon make over. I prefered the Yoshi's Island theme, but it's still very enjoyable and very cheap.

I've never played Ridge Racer 64, Wave Race, or Monster Truck Ralley though. I would say the following games are other must have titles;

Star Fox 64
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Diddy Kong Racing
Paper Mario
Mario Party 2
Mischief Makers
Perfect Dark
007 Goldeneye
Donkey Kong 64
Super Smash Bros

Paper Mario is the ONLY N64 game I can recommend…

The rest look so bad now that they are difficult to get into.

- F Zero X
- Wave Race 64
- Monster Truck Madness
- Pokemon Puzzle Challenge
- Ridge Racer 64

All of these games you listed are pretty good with two exceptions...

F Zero X is awesome \^_^/

Monster Truck Madness sucks :puke:

You really owe it to yourself to pick up a copy of Sin & Punishment. It was only released in Japan but all the dialogue is in English. It can be played with a simple convertor or even by hacking a bit of the plastic on your N64.

Geezus christ NO ONE has mentioned BANJO KAZOOIE! x_x

If there was a "best" collectathon platformer, BANJO KAZOOIE IS IT!

Get that game. It's #1 on the N64 list. Yes, even over Mario 64.

I just the other day took the ZIP driv eout of my Z64 back up unit and installed an extra 1GB hard drive I had in it. I've got 64 games on there all off which I think are pretty fun.

Two of my favorites that almost never get mentioned when people are recommending N64 games are Space Station Silicon Valley and Goemon's Great Adventure. Space Station Silicon Valley is really cool platformer where you play a sentient microchip that has to inhabit various robotic animals that live in a space-borne biosphere in order to get recover the lost part of your space ship so that you can get away. It's really cool and has a great sense of humor. Goemon's Great Adventure is the second Goemon game on the N64, both of which are good and which we're really lucky to have gotten in the West. Goemon's a great series all the way through, but Great Adventure on the N64 is maybe my favorite; it's got a semi-2D viewpoint and really just perfect difficulty. The first one on the N64, Mystical Ninja Goemon, is full 3D.

I would also second almost all the other recommendations made in this thread. Of the 64 games on my Z64 hard drive, though, 25 of them are racers. If you're into arcade racers, particularly, the N64 is a dream system. Ridge Racer 64 that you asked about it great, as are most of the Cruis'n games (not so much Cruis'n Exotica), the San Francisco Rush series, Beetle Adventure Racing, MRC, Rally Challenge, Top Gear Rally, F-Zero X, Wipout, and more.

Personally, I don't think Mischief Makers is very good. I think everyone likes it mostly since it's from Treasure, but it's the wrost game of theirs that I've played, that's for sure.

No love for Stunt Racer 64? :(

It's my favorite racing game on the platform. The widescreen "high res" mode sucks (it crops it down instead of expanding the visable playing area, making the game harder), but good fucking lord did it have some extremely enjoyable racing fun.

A few worthwhile N64 games (IMHO):

Killer Instinct Gold
Body Harvest
Starcraft 64 (get the expansion pack for this one)
New Tetris (multiplayer mode)

F-Zero X is godly. You can't go wrong with it.

But if you want the very best the N64 has to offer, I'd say it's Goemon's Great Adventure. And, of course, Super Mario 64 is a must.

If you're open to imports, specifically text-heavy ones, Wonder Project J2 is a masterpiece of a game.

Wow how can I forget Paper Mario and Goldeneye! Paper Mario is so original that it would make one think: What else could nintendo think of? When you take mario to an Inn and he slips into the bed, You can only think how anyone thought up the idea.

And Goldeneye Is the best James Bond game I've played.

I enjoy Pokemon about as much as I enjoy using the bathroom in a Mexican restaurant, but Pokemon Puzzle League is an absolute must-own, moreso if you are a fast-paced puzzle fan. Come on, how many puzzle games have a superior one-player mode?

I've beat a ton of games on a ton of systems, bue when I finally beat the last guy on the hardest difficulty in PPL, it was one of the most satisfying moments in my gaming career.

I second that emotion. That is one of my top five of all-time favorite racing games. Stunt Racer 64 RULES.

Well, I only own like 80 something N64 games, most of which are common and my friends at one point owned while they had the system. Due to that I don't have the exposure of a ton of titles that weren't as mainstream or have been a bit high in price that I didn't want to pay for it. It just seems a bit difficult to find cheap N64 games around here (For me anyways).

Goldeneye 007 is still one of, if not the best multiplayer FPS on the planet.

Get Goldeneye, four controllers and three other friends and watch the weeks waste by.

That game is seriously like the Othello of videogames IMO.

You definitely need Tetrisphere. That game is digital crack.

The graphics and music are both fantastic, and the graphics are pretty good too. Plus, it was made in Canada (that explains why it's so good ;))

Honestly I can only remember about a handful of good games for the N64,Ocarina and 007 were the 2 main ones everyone loved.

When I had my Playstation when it was still in the production stages of its life I always pondered getting a N64 many times, and came close once,Luckily they were sold out and I was happy I never bought one at full price

I have aquired 2 N64 in the last few years and tried to find the good games locally for it with no luck, some were way overpriced for 2005.

PSOne was better overall in terms of quality games IMO
