Doing some research into regional Variations on Dreamcast games and figured the best way to gather info is via DP.

I'll get us started as an example to what I'm talking about (please add the language(s) on teh back cover to narrow down what goes where):

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Rogue Spear:
4033756003342, Item Number Unknown, (DE)
4033756003359, Item Number Unknown, (UK)
4033756003366, T-45002D-09, (FR)
4033756003373, T-45002D-61, (UK/IT/ES)

So basically barcode and item number can help delineate region...so post what PAL DC games you might have and hopefully I can untangle the mess....and anything new will of course be added to VGR so if you are registered there let me know and I'll give contributor credit ;)

Could you double check these I *think* that they should all have an item number that ends in -05 which indicates the game was meant for the UK market.

Thanks for the info..I updated a number of games.

What are the white label games?

hm, dont you know those?

have a look at here: http://www.dreamcasthistory.com/
under: Europe -> Prototypes-Betas. all those pre production copys. This is not complete, but the most complete list i know.
Most of these are the complete games, although a few have Beta written on them.

it is said that in some cases these were produced in higher quantities than the real game later LOL however, some are also really rare.

heh..thanks for the info. Probably why I never really heard of them before is that VGR added its PAL games to the database over three years ago when the site was brand new. I'm going back now, with a lot more knowledge of how the PAL market works, and fixing/adding a lot of our shortcomings.

I double checked and all the game DISCS have -50 on them. However the spine has -05 on them. I just got the impression that you wanted the code from the disc, not from the cover spine. :/

My bad..I consider the spine item number to be the significant one as most companies tend to reuse the same disc in multiple regions. It is the packaging that varies.

It's the first time I've heard of it happening...most likely one of them is a typo. Unfortunately as their weren't any other European regional variations for Tokyo Highway Challenge 2, I'm not sure which one is the typo.

I'm guessing that T-40210D-50 was the original item number for the PAL release but they pushed back the release date and so they changed it later...the US release is T-40211N so it kinda makes sense chronologically....
