I just read on IGN that they are making a Family Guy game. It says that the game plays just like an episode of Family Guy. What are your guys opinions on this one. I have high hopes for it, because it has been awhile since I have seen a good platformer....and I am always game for Family Guy

I would be very interested to play it. But its for PS2 and PSP only. If only it was available for Xbox or Xbox 360... :(

Would be funny if they ripped off The Simpsons and placed a beat 'em up minigame in it.

I read about this a few months back, it was the featured article in the May 2006 Issue of GamePro. Doesn't seem half bad, I would probably buy or rent it.

I've read about it in various game magazines months ago.

According to CheapAssGamer, next week's Best Buy ad has it listed at $29.99. I'm not sure whether that's the MSRP or not.

I have a feeling it's not going to be good, but if the reviews prove me wrong, I might check it out on the cheap.

This should be an unlockable minigame :)

It's coming out for Xbox - there was an ad for it in the latest EGM.

Hey I look at it like this, even if the gameplay is not all there if the comedy is anything close to that of Family Guy I will be all over it.

Wow! That game has the potential to be so wrong on so many levels, I may have to check it out.

"Hey Lois, we have our own video game! It's like that one time, remember when I got lost in the jungle"

*cue 20 minute flashback to Pitfall!*

I'm surprised it's taken this long. The first South Park game seemed like it came out during season 2 of the show.

Like King of the Hill, I never found this show remotely funny. So I guess I agree with the original poster.

I picked this game up at Gamecrazy for $29.99 on tuesday. God I hope this game becomes rare because after playing it for 20 minutes I wished I had my money back. Most of the jokes are recycled from the show and the gameplay is boring.

Remember - South Park was a huge hit from the get-go.

FG struggled through it's second season, then was cancelled in the middle of the 3rd, and Fox didn't realize they had an audience for the show until after they let Adult Swim air the repeats and the DVD's went on sale.

Now FG is one of Fox's rare cash cows. The others being The Simpsons, 24, and now maybe Prison Break - which I'm positive we'll see a VG of before too long.. And Fox would never cancel The Simpsons. It's basically what's been keeping them on the air all these years.

Don't be surprised.

Futurama got a game.
South Park got a few.
Simpsons got more than a few.

So who's next?

Oh, I'm sure we'll see an American Dad VG in a few years.

It's awful. It's beyond retro in its design, but done so poorly, it's shameful. Has a few nice moments, but overall annoying, frustrating, and slightly funny. If you like the show, check the rentals. Give it a quick run for the humor. Camera is decent though.

Never say never with FOX. They cancled Married w/ Children, the show was there from the start, through a few network presidents and was cancled at the blink of an eye. Of course the show was just about over due at the time, but the same could be same about the Simpsons.

I won't say it's awful....but I didn't put too much time into it. An hour and a half maybe. The concept is very reminisent of Bart's Nightmare. It doesn't seem like they really fleshed it out or worked out any kinks. For example: in a Brian level I acquired a hat where Brian will be disguised if he stands still. Well I botched (well, HE botched because there's a "stress" meter that fills and when its full he has to whizz on a potted plant) and had to start over. The game states "You can get lost disguises back if you hide in the shadows. Nope. False.

As a Family Guy fan it was fun for a little while but it started to get boring rather quick. The graphics reminded me of the character models in Looney Tunes Space Race (or whatever it's named) on the Dreamcast. They were good but could have been better. Control, at least in the PS2 version, was spotty-getting Stewie to stand still while you swivel him to shoot was a pain and getting Peter to actually punch/kick accurately was hit-and-miss (pardon the pun).

Even Family Guy fans should give it a rent.
