Just curious - You can't find them anywhere anymore.
And to be quite honest - I didn't have a problem with them. Especially since I had gotten used to the DC's mammoth controllers.

with all due respect, why on earth would they be rare? Millions made.

Yeah all the Gamestops around here have crates of them in the back with two inches of dust on them. The ONLY time the big one is ever mentioned is when someone asks for an XBox controller and wants to make sure they're not getting one.
I do know a few people who prefer it due to their hand size/digit configuration though.
The one thing that is better about it is the positioning of the Black and White buttons. They're pretty awkward for me to use on the Controller S for action games.

True.
I was just curious. I, personally, haven't seen one in the wild in about 2 years. Maybe it's just where I live.

I still see them at stores but no longer in big bins. Just a few up with the ever-shrinking Xbox section. Last month I had a hard time finding a Halo controller to match my Xbox even though there are 7 or 8 EB/Gamestop/other game stores within a half hour of my house.

I think the only thing that they are considered by the bulk of gamers is 'shitty.'

I love "The Duke"! My hands are big so it's MUCH more comfortable than the S. Plus, the button layout is better. I actually need to get some spares in case mine breaks. Somebody hook me up?

For the 2 people on Earth who haven't already read Maddox's Xbox article (specifically, point #3). So funny.

One thing about "The Duke" that I like, is the rumble of it. I honestly feel that the Duke had the best rumble of any controller ever. Not that the Controller S or the Xbox 360 controller's rumble sucks, but the Duke's rumble just seemed more precise for some reason. My hands aren't exactly small, so the duke felt pretty good in my hands as well. It was like holding a Carl's Jr Super Star, only without all the special sauce dripping all over the place, lol.
You know, one thing that has really bothered me about all the Xbox controllers though is the buttons. You know the red, green, yellow and blut buttons. I just don't like the feel of them for whatever reason. They are too round and stick out too far.

I always liked the big controllers. I don't know why, I have small girly hands. They were just comfortable, not that the S controllers are uncomfortable, I just didn't see any reason to bitch about the large ones.
Course now I use the logitech wireless which only comes small, so it's a minute point.

5. No Soul.
You'll never see games like Metal Slug, <s>Radiant Silvergun</s> or Castlevania come out for the Xbox
Ummm.... heh.

I find that the original controllers are the best. I cannot successfully use the smaller controllers in any game that used the black and white buttons. Why the hell would they put the buttons way down there where you cant reach them?

The Duke rocks! Of course I have large hands, so it fits in my hands like an "S" would on a normal size person.

When I got my Xbox from a pawnshop two years ago, it came with the Duke. I haven't used any other controller with my xbox because I like the Duke. I'm a chick with sorta big hands. All that sign language and all. It's just a comfortable fit.

Why is the older controller called "The Duke"?

That big controller is pretty nice. It's much better suited for certain games. The S controller is great in its own right, but I still prefer the larger one. I think there was a lot of flack for that big controller at first, and I am still trying to figure out why.

VIVA LA DUKE!!!
I like to use both the Duke and the S, depending on which game I'm playing.
I VASTLY prefer the Duke for Halo and Morrowind, whereas for racing games, Panzer Dragoon, or Gunvalkyrie I prefer the "S".
