One day I'll be as neat and as organized as you guys.

/sarcasm off

I posted pictures of one of my collection rooms on myspace. You wouldn't believe what the basement looks like. No one ever believes me when I tell them that X item is buried and I don't know where it is. Boxes to the ceiling almost to the door. Closet is also quite full.

Yes it brings true meaning to room of doom.

You really have no idea...thats 1 room. Basement is the worst but every room is bad. I had over 10,000+ empty sega/snes/gboy boxes in the basement amoung tons of other things and DreamTr kept IMing me to find him the 3 or 4 boxes he needed. I sent him pictures of the basement but he kept on asking. Gotta give the guy A an for effort.

Never, EVER let the post office see either of those pictures!!

goodness, what all stuff is in there? do you have some main area of collecting focus, or is it all just random game stuff you got at garage sales?

I've been collecting since the 90's and most of it is boxed or sealed cardboard boxed games. Theres a ton of protos here as well. Also quite a few sealed systems as I tried to get one of each box variation. There must be over 10 different gamecubes. For the most part I just buy US stuff.

1. You are the sole reason why the PO won't give out free boxes or tape anymore! LOL

2... I don't really get this kind of collecting. It isn't collecting, it's amassing. How is that fun?

Man, I feel A LOT better about how messy my collection has become. Do you have any sort of collection list? If you do, how do you update and keep it straight? Has your collection always been this crazy even when you started in the 90's, or did you just lose control over it one day and this is the result? Crazy stuff man....

Good lord! I hope nothing has died in there because it would take forever to find it!

It is written that one day the video games of the world will grow tired of their oppressors. That they will unite and overthrow the players of the land. Their headquarters, in all of its glory, is in Buyatari's basement.

man an awesome part of collecting stuff is seeing what you have in my opinion. And that just looks like no fun lol. you should make a HUGE like 50X50 room and put EVERYTHING on display. Now that would be sweet! tons of shelves, display cases. 8-)

I wish it was that easy. I have a 5 bedroom house. If you count the basement and the attic there are 5 floors. Other than our bathrooms, dining room, bedroom and the babys room all the other rooms are filled with games. We had to turn the dining room into our living room because I filled the the 2 living rooms. I also have storage off site.

I see something I want and I buy it. Often I'm not even sure if I have it already. I'm sick man, sick.

buyatari, you have GOT to organize a cleaning/sorting party one of these days. I'd volunteer, I'm sure others would too. 8-) LOL

I'd love to help out too and any box that you can't name what's in it goes to whoever is moving it :D

The real problem is lack of a staging area to do any real sorting. You think its a mess, just imagine the scene when I die and my wife puts it all on the tree lawn.

Dude...kudos for a big collection (God, I knew it was big, but DAMN), but it's definitely a big problem...you can't even enjoy your stuff or even look at it.

I seriously think you should have a party with a bunch of people you trust and just inventory every damn item. Invest in some shelves...maybe shelves on wheels so you can move them around to get at stuff.

You've got to sell yoff your duplicate items, man. There's no way that at least 30% of that stuff isn't dupes! LOL

It's just gonna get worse, man. I would seriously consider making your second hobby other than collecting (well, and playing when you can) organizing your stuff.

It's sad you can't enjoy your collection man. :( I swear I'd help you out if I lived closer!

This looks like my garage did in the late spring; so much clutter one literally could not walk inside (see my Room of Doom pics for proof). Horrible, yet impressive in its own way.

A collection that sizable ought to be somewhat on display imho, rather than languishing in shipping boxes. But hey, we all make do with the time, space and shelving that we have.

Yeah... I think i'm going to stop bugging you about whatever it was i was bugging you about...

Someday your're going to be very disapointed when you come home and find that your games have colapsed under their own gravity and created a black hole...

Reminds me of the BORG. All the cube shaped boxes and the assimiliting...I'm thinking they went farther back in time this time.

Geez, and I thought some of my stuff was hard to access. O_o

I'm just fortunate that I have my collection split up between two houses. If I had to fit all 700-some games along with all the other stuff into just one bedroom, I don't know what I would do. o_O I do dream of the day that my collection is reunited, though, since it kind of sucks having half on the west coast and half on the east coast. I even have the contents of some games broken up, with the packaging in one location and the cart or disc in another.

Hahaha I get complaints for just the floor being covered, and it is for my game room and basement.

I would be glad to come over and steal... I mean clean that for you in exchange for some games. :D Or you could store some of it at my house, I'm not to far from you.
