Walked into Gamestop today and Buy 2 Get 1 free is on all used games and dvds (probablly used accessories too.) until 5/6. Great deal for those games that just came out. The 10% card stacks too, for an extra discount!

I went out and picked up some XBox 360 stuff:

- Call of Duty 2
- Dead or Alive 4
- Rumble Roses XX

They were 34.99 each (COD2 was free), and on top of that, I was able to pick up the Game Informer subscription/discount card for just over $1 (using the 10 percent discount from the card and the 10 percent discount from the coupon inside the Game Informer).

If you're going to buy at least $70 worth of used stuff and you don't have the Game Informer card yet, you should go ahead and get it. The extra discount from this month's magazine will nearly pay for the card, and the 10 percent off makes future B2G1 purchases even better. (Plus, in my case, the manager left the coupon in the magazine, so it looks like I can use it again ;))

Yes it does, but I don't think that reason is that they are they only site on the internet where news of a game sale can be posted. Whenever I post info here I first see on CAG, I always give them credit, but an EB/GS B2G1 sale isn't exactly proprietary info either...relax.

You're missing the point, If EB and gamestop are having a B2G1 sale, There is no reason to not post about it and let people know about it.

And it is perfectly fine to post your buys in this type of topic as long as you got them in the B2G1 sale.

Huh. That's interesting. Considering that looking at my post history, the first page goes as far back as September 10. So I've made 25 posts, not necessarily topics, in about two months.

I bought a few cheap PS2 games, but the store I wanted to buy a lot of games from just closed. So all the games are scattered going to different stores. If it doesn't end early, I'll be taking advantage this weekend.

Xbox B2G1 was last week. This week it's all systems B2G1. This is at every Gamestop/EB nationwide. It's even in their weekly ad circular if you still doubt me.

I work at Gamestop and it's at all of the stores. It's only going on for a week though. B2G1 ends on May 6th...good time to get 360 games used...also good month for subscription cause it has coupons in it.

The stores near me hate me for this sale. I literally spend a few hundred dollars (or more) each time.

As a collector I want to get all the games for the systems, so I use these sales to buy up the cheapo's.

I feel that for collectible reasons, and given ebay prices with shipping, that any non-sports title for any system is worth at least $5, so if I can get them for less than $5 it's worth a purchase.

So I go to the stores and buy every game $7.99 or less that I do not have until I run out of money. Usually I pick one system and go to a half dozen stores.

I got 30 Xbox games for about $100 the other day at one store. It can take these guys along time to pull 30 discs and then ring me up...

I usually end up with a couple great games in every hall. Popular games often drop far in price (eventually) because there are so many copies out there (not just sports).

After the sale I go cold and only buy a game here and there and wait for the next salew; by then there are usually new titles below the $7.99 mark.

EB/Gamestop is making moves to reduce their inventories on Xbox and Game Boy/Color/Advance titles so you should look to get those because they will be tougher to find in the future, and with ebay shipping, more expensive...

Some stores will let you stack the 10% coupon from the Game Informer this month with your Edge card and the B2G1. Ask first.

Went to the Gamestop here yesterday with my friend, and we had a hell of a time finding three things even worth doing this with. Just about everything we picked up either they couldn't find in the drawers (Guilty Gear Isuka) or there wasn't a manual in (Hotel Dusk, Trapt, Guilty Gear PSP, about five other things...). He ended up with PSP Genesis Collection, PS2 Fatal Frame, and Dirge of Cerberus.

Not that any of this really matters, I just felt like venting. I'll never understand people that can lose their cases and manuals in such incredible volume. Aren't you supposed to keep the game in there anyway? :?

I have been trying to fill the holes in my ps2 rpg collection. Man there are so many rpgs out. I see ones that I didn't even know anything about. There has to be at least 200 rpgs for the ps2.

On another note this is a great way to build up your ps2 or xbox collections with cheap priced games. I really feel the death blow coming for the systems and soon these games will be harder to come by in half way decent condition..

Xbox1 is pretty much dead. Most stores have taken down their displays to next to nothing and the last game (NCAA Football 08) is coming later this year. You probably won't see most stores carrying Xbox1 stuff past this Xmas (if that).

PS2 still has a couple of years left in it. It's still the #1 selling system and there is steady software support for it.

I do agree that it's a great time to get XBox games tho - unfortunately, the selection at my local EB sucks... mostly sports games.

Picked up Phantasy Star Universe for 360 (been waiting for this to drop a bit in price for months now), Castle Shikigami 2 for PS2, and Legend of Zelda - Oracle of Seasons for GBC.

I was surprised they still had GBC games at all. Other than the Xbox bin, the Xbox section is down to about three feet of space.

(I'll have to ask at EB tomorrow if the deal is good on accessories, too. I could use a couple of extra controllers...)

My local EB seems to have just cleaned out their backroom and put all their preowned accessories out. I got a wireless PS2 controller, wireless XBox controller, and Wireless Gamecube controller, all for about $34. I paid that much for the ones I already had...

Some of you lament the 99 cent sports games for XBox 1 (or PS2). That's the whole reason I go to the B2G1 sales at Gamestop, though. I never played most of them when they were released in the first place because I'm damned if I'll pay $40-60 new to play some of them when they'll be $1-2 in 2-3 years. If it leaves me 2-4 years behind then so be it. There are so many copies of most of them that finding a complete version is easier than falling on the ice.

I don't know, I just feel better about paying $40-50 for a game that is still $15-20 (used) two or three years later at most places than I do for one that drops all the way to a couple of bucks a lot of places.

Yeah I think the PS2 is exceeding the PS1 in the RPG category; something I did not expect. There are several more coming out over the next few months as well.

There is a thread that is maintaining a list of PS2 ROG's and strategy guides around here. I do not believe it has quite reached 200 yet :) .

The deal applied only to Xbox games for a while before and after it applied to everything else. But, unless otherwise stated, you can mix and match as you please.

Also, a Blockbuster near my work has B2G1 free deal going on for Xbox. Don't know if it's company wide.

I tried to do that. They said it had happened once before and the power would be out for at least 8 hours. That was a no go. They did offer to hold them for a day but I couldn't get back up there the next day. That was a no go. I offered to let them transcribe my CC on receipt paper and then manually insert it but they said they couldn't do that. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
