For a brief while, it appeared on XBL. It's down now, but we know whats coming this Wednesday.

Anyone here manage to snag it?

I was watching in hope of a sneak second oppurtunity of getting the phantasy star download. I never saw it and I was watching new releases.

I got it, it's pretty sleak, only downside is the D-pad really sucks on this game, I get better response time from the joystick actually. The control setup is perfect however, using the same control scheme from the SNES controller.

BGM, sound effects are perfect and no loading time.

Now if I could find a decent controller to play this sucker, I would be in heaven.

As for the bug issue, I couldn't really find any problems. The online mode I tried for 1 battle, went pretty well.

Still bugs me that I have to find a way to unlock Old Sub-Zero, Mileena, and Ermac

Okay Im starting to see the glitches now. It wouldn't reward me for getting 10 wins in XBL or performing a Fatality.

I tried out the free demo, and this game is pretty damn sweet. I honestly didn't play this game in Arcade or any of the console conversions. I played MK1 and MK2 a little bit. But I really like this game. If it was $5, I would probably snag it. For some weird reason, I just can't come to grips with paying 10 snaps for something, "virtual". I like to be able to sell my games to other people, when I no longer have any use for them. When you pay for a download like this, that's pretty much not in the realm of possibility. Plus, 10 snaps is 10 snaps is 10 snaps. I mean, in the grand scheme of things, $10 isn't that much, but all these $10 and $5 purchases really start to add up.

Anywho, I still think this game is pretty damn sweet, and I really love how they give you the option to make the game full screen for those of us playing on wide screens. It's about freaking time they included that option. As much as I hate the idea of paying money to own something "virtually", if Doom and this was $5, I would buy them in a heartbeat. At $10, I'm going to have to wait for Xbox Live Arcade to have a half price day, lol

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Lumines Live, Geometry Wars, Doom - I'm going to buy these today.
I have already 3 UMK3 games on Saturn, PSX and Snes - but this is just awesome, dominating online is pretty cool ^^ + nice HD support.

I got the game the other day and was sad that it won't let you configure the controls. I tried using my joystick. :(

Totally agreed, I'm forcing myself to get used to the controller until enough people complain and they patch it to have button configuration. I do so much better with the joystick too, why didn't they think of that kind of thing in advance?

In good news, the glitches that were there, with rewarding "achievement points" has been fixed.

Overall I am pleased with this port, but damn the D-pad! The only advice I have to give is tap the joystick when performing Back-Back+ LP type of attacks (Scropion, Smoke, etc.)

Is anyone besides me pissed that there is no practice mode? I haven't played this game in so long, I've forgotten most of the moves.

well this is an arcade game so naturally no practice, I dont think its necessary because you can practice in versus mode.
just have beat shao kahn, and unlocked most of the achievements.
controls are as good as posibble on the d-pad in this controller, anyone tried Hori stick?
and if so, how does it feel?

Hori stick would not matter, you can't configure the buttons to your liking. Biggest POS error ever if you ask me, how they did not add something like that. It's impossible for me to play this game at the moment until there is a button configuration menu.

i managed to grab the demo on saturday and after playing it, i bought it right away. i only tried single player so im not sure how online play is at the moment. seems like a great port though!

Disk, yeah I noticed alot of people complained about having no practice. Took me a few hours to try and remember.

Dream, that is unfair that they don't have a button configure, especially for the Hori pad. Yet, wasn't this game suppose to be released in November? Maybe if they could have waited longer, they would have added this in?

Sickdrummer, the online mode is nice, but it's like 2 out of 10 fights, you'll get some lag. Which I've ran across a few times, oh and people who like to choose Nightwolf and do nothing but the shoulder bash (trying to act like a Shao Kahn it seems). Is there anyway to escape from when Shao Kahn or Nightwolf starts doing the shoulder bash? It's like everything I try to do, he keeps repeating it, and I have no way to escape it.

yeah, but what about his straight shoulder dash, he usually gets me with that, even if you block, he is tough...

this game rocks.. its a great and welcome addition to the XBLA. Now if we could just get Killer Instinct... boy would I be happy!!! :) :)

I would pay $60 alone if they would add Killer Instinct on xbox live, its that good.
but it would be hard to make it since live arcade games require to be 50megs at most, KI is well over 100.
Rare should release Killer Instinct Trilogy as a standalone retail product.

Princess: they plan on releasing Symphony of the Night on XBL, so I am sure they can manage KI.

Got this yesterday, it's a great port. Warts and all.

Got some great games in on Live too. Destroying suckers with the true chosen savior of Earth Realm: Stryker. LOL LOL LOL
