'Cuz it sure does to me. Did you send this to GameFAQs, or is someone ripping you off?

By the way, this is Earl's original review in case anyone wants to compare the two:

Blistering hot bitchy (and yet strangely tactful and officious) e-mail sent. (So this is how I de-stress...)

To whom it may concern:

It has been drawn to my attention that much of the review text of the Odyssey 2 game "Pick Axe Pete" found at http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/odyssey2/review/R50185.html is lifted wholesale, not one word changed, from a review of the same game written by myself in 1996. That original review can be found at http://www.thelogbook.com/odyssey/pap.html if you wish to double check.

In accordance with your own Copyright Policy:
"Each text document located on GameFAQs is Copyrighted by its original author. GameFAQs makes no claim of ownership to these documents, and merely hosts them on its server. Each document is copyrighted separately, and you may have different rights for the use and reproduction of that document based on copyright information found in that file. The original author of each document should be contacted for more information."

I insist that the portions of this review which were "borrowed" from my text be removed immediately. As I am the original author of the document - as opposed to the person who cut and pasted and claimed credit for it - I did not give permission for it to be reprinted or even adapted. This material is intended solely for my site.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

I CC'ed that to the original "author" as well. Whatta schmuck.

Thanks for the heads-up - not the first time it's happened, probably won't be the last. But for God's sake, when I was freelancing for All Game Guide, I didn't even submit my own Phosphor Dot Fossils reviews - I wrote all-new material for them. I mean, they were paying me, I owed them at least that much.

Thanks again, Maneki - I probably owe ya something from my stash.

This happens depressingly often at GameFAQs... a few weeks ago I found another review someone had nicked from Seanbaby's site. He altered it slightly in the hopes that the editor wouldn't notice, but its origins were still pretty obvious. Luckily, I mentioned it to Jeff Veasey, and he removed it shortly after verifying that it was in fact Seanbaby's review.

P.S. So, what's in that stash you mentioned? It sounds pretty tempting. However, if you don't want to go through the hassle of mailing something out to me, you could always contribute a couple of those nifty planetscapes to a game my friends and I were developing. Last time I talked to him, Brian said he needed some backgrounds, and he wasn't satisfied with the stock art he had on hand.
