In my wanderings yesterday I came across a used non-GH copy of Final Fantasy VII (PSX) for $25 CDN. This seems to be highly unusual and something I should take advantage of.

Or is it? Are there still lots of used game stores out there that sell non-GH copies of PSX RPGs for the same price as the GH versions, or are the non-GH copies just generally snapped up pretty quickly these days?

Since the UPC codes on the back are identical, I think most stores could care less. Also the number of games that have a significant difference in price between GH and non GH is a very small percentage of games rereleased as GH.

I'm just more surprised seeing any FF7 for that cheap with how much it's going for on ebay right now :)

At a general gaming store they sell that FF VII for whatever they sell that FF VII for. Unless they are crazy on-top of ebay type things there wouldn't be a price delination at all to the versions.

GameStop and EB never priced them differently, they just sold it as FF VII. In fact i've never been in a store thats sold PS RPG's that has had a price change between the GH and Non-GH versions of the games.

I've seen three or four year old games at those stores still sold at MSRP, even though everyone else is clearing them out at nine bucks.

Yeah its true that is how I got a cheap used copy of a non-GH version of Shadow of Collossus. I payed for a used copy that was 17.99 when only two days prior it had been priced 34.99 because there was not GH version. I was pretty happy in this coincidence so EB and Gamestop can actually work in everyones favor sometime.....I use sometime sparingly

Oh yes, never  You can find overpriced, un-pricedropped games at any store.
