Would someone on this sight explain to me why in the heck this game is so pricey and rare. I mean its just a horse racing game. Is its hard to come by or is the game actually good. Just curious?

Which Gallop Racer is priced high? I bought 2006 a few months ago new for $39.99 and bought 2001 not too long ago either at game stop for $12.99 or something like that. I think I just saw 2004 at the game store the other day but didn't check the price.

I think the original Gallop Racer for Playstation may be hard to come by these days as seems to be the case with many PS1 game as of late.

Yeah I was talking about the playstation one version, but I have seen some of the ps2 ones that were 25 or higher. Is it a good game because I am actually curious to how it plays. I am looking to play something completely off the wall and that might be it.

The GR series is a niche series and has a very small but hardcore following in the US. Because of this, Tecmo brings the titles over here every year but prints them in limited numbers because they know the hardcore fans will always buy them up. Nobody ever trades them in, so that's why they are always expensive whenever you do see them for sale.

I forget the name of the site, but it's basically *the* site for Gallop Racer fans. They hold online racing leagues and what members do is email their GR game saves to the league organizer and they'll put them all onto a single PS2 memory card. Once they are all on there, they'll race them against each other and they do this once a week. There are different divisions and point standings, so it gets pretty deep. I always wanted to try it out but I couldn't find a save transfer device that'd work with my Mac.

That sounds pretty sweet and definitely unique. I believe I may have to check this out I have been dying to play a game totally off the wall.

Most horse racing games are on the expensive and less common side generally because what norkusa said. I'm currious about the Saturn game Winning Post and others like it since I've never seen that in the wild before. Are there other racing titles that should stand out like the one for the NGPC?
